bamaace83  | 965 comments Also, I read Recipe for a Perfect Wife and it has some pretty strong food ingredients in it. I've read a lot of books that aren't listed because we did so well filling all the spots but I did notice that we had one spot still open. Did we have a plan to fill it already or should I put the Recipe book in that spot?

bamaace83  | 965 comments I fixed the two doubles that I found. I didn't even add all the words in that book because there are so many but I was able to make a good curry and fix those doubles.

I can help with waiting on customers. Only thing is I won't be available until after 12 tomorrow. After that I'm free until Monday afternoon. I just am not entirely sure of what to do for this part tho

Me neither...what we know...

We have 2 days

Fresh should probably be used first because they expire

Adults give tips based on names of meals...tips earn us preservatives to help us 'save' expiring meals for the next round.

We want to be careful not to leave anything expiring if we can to avoid being penalized.

We'll want to monitor Q&A and maybe a few other threads for hints on how we can do better.

Perhaps we can dialogue a bit on strategy before we start...I don't know if they arrive all at once or if we need to monitor for good service...I really have no idea. Anything you can find will be helpful.

Shannon why don't you take the lead...if no one else want to step up to back you up, I'll gladly do it. I work all day/night tomorrow but will have a few breaks to check in here and there. Sunday is better for me. If we can do everything on Sunday, I'll be around all morning for sure...not sure yet about the rest of the day. I'm a realtor, so work time depends on clients.

No problem...right next to that column we've been marking one of the slots with a 'yes' if the meal is finished. The sample work sheet did it that way. I think we need the 'yes' for it to move over to the the SHOP FRONT totals area. Looks like it was just you...so we're caught up.

I'm going to continue finish with naming a bunch of meals that still aren't and then work on getting some of Jenny's books used. If we don't get every single thing used, it will probably be fine...but every book has to be used for at least one ingredient for us to get the book points.

Note: after tonight I won't have any time to work on this before the deadline tomorrow afternoon...if anyone see any errors, please do fix.
If you have time to make anything better, please feel free. Thanks...we should process this round and I.D. what we can do better next time...I'm totally open for whatever you all think.

What you all are doing is good...yes, just refresh and things will fall in to place if multiple people are working. I'm just naming meals and adding an ingredient now and then to make it better. We're almost done I think...just a few books that have no inclusion at all.

We tap out at 148 meals and should try for the DDC category if at all possible.

Not sure...Maybe one more fish n chip with no vinegar

bamaace83  | 965 comments I used up all the lines and I don't know how to make more on the Shop Front page. I've used ingredients in all of Jenny's books and made meals, drinks, and desserts. There are still ingredients out there that we can use to beef up things if we need to. My Braves need to get it together because I don't want to play tomorrow night but it's not looking promising.

There's a bunch of meals that aren't yet numbered...could you just double check the whole list that everything has a meal number?

fish n chips at line 439 needs salt added

lines 484-487 ...vicki's sandwich needs justification.

439 - 458 there are 3 meals that need to be numbered...need to delete 1 item meals ...in higher numbers.

bamaace83  | 965 comments I have no idea where that curry goes! I thought it was 115 but then realized we already have a 115. I don't know where that sandwhich goes either and I think we are missing salt in a fish and chips.

Tammie | 4553 comments I'm going to stop working on meal naming for now while you both finish up as I'm likely getting in your way. Will check in early and do what I can...but unfortunately this is likely all the time I have for this round.

As time allows tweak our meal names and if our team's restaurant description can improve, that would be another area to check.

I think we are in pretty good shape. I’m so grateful that everyone is willing to assist. I think building meals as we go can work...making them stringer from the start and not being afraid to use each other’s ingredients will make us more efficient next go.

I still have a lot of ingredients I could add to other things, but I'm not sure at this point if I should or just leave my books alone now.

If they had ingredients there I left them and (if I remembered) put them in parenthesis. I don't know that they're good or exactly what we need but I tried to help out so I hope I didn't mess it up!

Our frozen and bev ratio is pretty high compared to fresh...more points with fresh so we may score lower if we have tons of customers...I just don't know what to expect.

If we did anything, it would be to change meals to fresh and I think honestly, we've spent enough time :)

I made sure we had meal numbers for everything and tweaked so everything had a catchy name.

Should be good Anna :)

At least after this round, we will have a better idea of how to fluff things up and what to make. I know that I have planned 300-600 page books mostly so we can maximize ingredients. I really liked the The Wall of Winnipeg and Me so I'm hoping to read another one of hers this week or next week.

I have 2 tiny books that I’m knocking out today for something else that I have no intention of using here because they are serious little books but I got a 500 plus page one I’m starting tomorrow. I read pretty fast in the weekends with no distractions so I just want to make sure that I can count it.

Anna...now that the challenge has started, the rule is the dates are strictly 'finish dates'. You can start recording your books now on the SS...just don't finish before tomorrow. I assume we are tracking the same ingredients as the STOREFRONT has the same meals on it.

Apparently customers have arrived but I have no idea where to find them or even how to start that part, hopefully Shannon is hiding so she can come out and guide us on that part.

So in the excel sheet on the Shop Front page theres a list of all the customers we have (160 total :O ) and we just have to go through and try to make sure we give the most items to people who can eat the items which are listed on the same page as well.

Also we should probably prioritize the adults since they can tip

Shannon O'Flynn | 630 comments I gave out all the meals. We can adjust if we want but I focused on giving the adults the alcoholic beverages first (since they were the only ones that could drink them). And then went to the next category that included adults and teenagers. And so on.

We sold out of all our menu items so thats good but we did leave 12 people hungry. So next round I think we just need to focus on making more menu items. The diversity of the menu was very good tho I think.. I didn't struggle to find food for any person

bamaace83  | 965 comments A couple take-aways..it's going to totally be strategy because we could only make 148 meals and we have 160 customers. So with that, should we keep 12-15 meals for next time knowing that the numbers may be more than the meals we've created. I totally agree on the adults first and then the rest. Maybe give the adults the ones with the cool names so we can get more tips. This is interesting and I'm not spreadsheet savy so I'm just sitting over here and can be a sounding board if I need to.

Wow...I'm sorry we ran out of meals...we could have made more! Super bummer...well we know for next round I guess.

I wouldn't hold anything back...I think we want to satisfy as many customers as possible. We'll know better to make as many meals as we can for the next round.

I haven't looked yet...for sure we don't want to dissatisfy the adults...sounds like that's where you started...so likely good to go forward from my POV. Should probably have made more fresh meals...those have more points. I don't know what to say...we started out with only 80 slots...I thought we were probably over doing it. We'll see how we stack up and just improve for next round.

Tammie | 4553 comments I think a reading strategy is to continue to read what we love; but if you have a choice and you love the longer books, those definitely give us more ingredients, more options.

For this next round we read 90 books vs 80. The final is 100. So we're going to need to pace ourselves to get it all done. I did read at least 6 books that didn't make it to the sheet...I know Jenny had a few as well. Jenny is out...haven't heard, but hopefully she returns soon...she's had bouts of needing to step away so hopefully she's good to go real soon....if not, we'll request a back up.

Hopefully everyone understands process...if not, please do ask.

bamaace83  | 965 comments I read a lot that wasn't added. I ran out of spaces and didn't know I could keep adding. Also, can we make more than 148 meals or are we set on that. I know as a team we can totally read 100 books. Jenny has posted in at least a week going on 2 weeks. I'm hoping she come backs soon but we may have to pick up for her until then. She does step away sometimes. I have 2 500 page books on the table for this week and a few 300 page books. I read my shorter ones today/tonight/morning just to get them out of the way.
