Monique S. (monique1109) Do we actually have a September Keyword challenge? I would like one for sure. Any takers?

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 329 comments Mod
Same, I enjoyed this month's challenge

message 3: by Lucy Tonks (new)

Lucy Tonks (the invisible life of a reader) i would love a september challenge, but becca is pretty busy and anna hasn't been active lately :/

Monique S. (monique1109) Shall we just start one ourselves?

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 329 comments Mod
How many people do you think will participate? I mean should we go for teams? Or just solo challenges?
I'm all for starting one, but shouldn't we consult a mod? If we don't need to, then let's do it!!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay, I have been freeing my mind and soul on vacation, but anyway, I'm not sure if there will be a challenge. I'm really overwhelmed right now and school is starting soon for me, it's just hard without Anna to help me

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 329 comments Mod
Um, sorry if this is a bit forward, but can we like elect pseudo-mods or like temporary mods for this month? It would take pressure off Becca, and we could have our challenge......

Or we could first get to know how many people would be willing to participate in this challenge (do a poll) and then if it's like really popular, then we start thinking whether to do it or not?

And if it is, we could have volunteer mods (just for this month) (more than one so the work isn't too much and because of differing time zones) to help us carry it out.

Those were my thoughts, too, Trisha. I am in the polls group, so I'll make one and we can, all of us here, send it to our friends in this group? As to titles I'd prefer assistant mod, pseudo sounds too much like fake to me, lol.

Monique S. (monique1109) OK, so here'e the link for the Poll.

I can make you both mods and Adela, since she said she would help out with the group! (Hopefully Anna won't mind...;) )

As long as you don't cause trouble and take over the whole group like a zombie apocalypse lol, then it is settled.

Hey, I wanted to ask, till what time should we wait for poll results to organise the challenge?

I mean, since one week is already gone, should we wait for like Sep 10, and take a decision on whether to conduct the challenge? And if yes, how to conduct it?

I was thinking, if not too many people are interested, should we do like a different challenge because teams will be hard if there aren't a lot of people?

I looked at the current results, and I think there are quite the number of people, 17 at present I think, not counting me since I didn't vote (was I supposed to? I didn't know whether I should have) so any ideas as to what we should do?

Of course, it's okay :)

I'm with you Adela, I feel starting it today would be better.......do you think we should get people into teams, and then if there are any more who want to sign up, we could add them randomly?

Also, how many teams do you think we should go with? I mean, four is a good number, but do we have enough participants?

My idea was to wait until the 10th for the poll results, but actually count anything read after the 31st August for the challenge. If there aren't enough people for more than one group we could:

-either take up the challenge as a group together and just see how many books we can get read in one month

-or do it as an individual challenge each?

In both cases we could stick with the website Becca mentioned for the Key words. What do you think?

message 20: by Monique (new)

Monique S. (monique1109) As of today, how many participants would there be? I mean 17 would make three nice groups, right? And last month some people joined later, too, so why not this month?

message 21: by Monique (last edited Sep 07, 2020 08:41AM) (new)

Monique S. (monique1109) Beccas recommended website proposes these keywords for September:

star, cry, she, window, forever ,eye

shall we use them?

I agree with the count anything after 31st of August

Three is a good number, and I agree, some competition makes it much more enjoyable!

I don't think there's a problem with them? I think they're okay.

Adela wrote: "So when is the challenge going to begin?"

Um, it's almost the end of the 7th for me (I'm in India), so 8th or 9th at the latest? I think we'll be able to get everything organised till then? Also, I'll be going to sleep in an hour, but I think I'll be available 10:00am(IST) onwards tomorrow (I have an exam)

message 26: by Monique (last edited Sep 07, 2020 08:56AM) (new)

Monique S. (monique1109) So, so far we agree on the keywords and counting reads after the 31st August. There are two people not from our group who saw the poll I created on the polls site, do we invite and accept them?

From us here so far I see:
Becca,
Chloe,
Amelie,
Megan,
Rheanna,
Maja,
Tianna,
Jack
Tori,
Athena,
Tora,
Aria,
Tabby,
Adela,
Trisha,
and me: Monique.

Did I miss someone?

Monique S. (monique1109) Hi guys, Since Natalie has now signed in, too, we are six in the bkue group now, so no more transfer of "Newbies" here please before all you others have full team.
Anfd it's the 13th anyway.

Monique S. (monique1109) Hi guys, I have seen the question on the team red thread, do we count re-reads? I am not sure on the topic, what do you think?

Yes!

Trisha (semi-hiatus) (booksreviewsandprocrastination) | 329 comments Mod
So, any reread counts? regardless of when you read it?

message 39: by Monique (new)

Monique S. (monique1109) No, I don't agree to that, The most I'd agree to was if the re-read was done now and showing in the currently reading tab with progress and results in a review.
