I remember putting it aside because they seemed to be sitting around planning endlessly! But it's Sanderson, so I'm sure it ends in a big Sanderlanche even though the first half is a bit slow. I do plan to give it another try.

Fastest opening book goes to The Blade Itself which has some magic. However it's not the main theme

Thank you. It has a pronunciation guide in the beginning which i thought was a great idea

Yes, but I had to check my books to figure that out. It didn't stick in my mind as much as The Blade Itself. It didn't start with an immediate chase like my suggestion.

Rion | 3 comments Here’s another Sanderson rec: The Words of Radiance (trilogy at this point, but I believe he said the next on was coming out in November (I could totally be wrong though). Come to think of it though, I don’t think there have been any LGBTIA+ in them. Anthony Ryan’s Raven’s Shadow trilogy does though. Oh! Sarah Monette series with Melusine does have a variety of characters. Felix, the main character is gay. Havemercy series by Jaida Jones (warning, the language of some of the character will blister your ears). I can’t think of any more off the top of my head, I will post another comment 😉

Don Dunham "The Red Knight" by Miles Cameron doesn't take long to get going.
