Brian (yetanotheranotherbrian) | 24 comments I read Why Goodreads is bad for books and wondered if any of you have experience with recommendations from TheStoryGraph?

Seth | 786 comments Haven't tried it yet, but looking forward to it now that you've pointed it out.

I do like fiddling around with NoveList which is a reading recommendation database my library subscribes to - I expect most libraries which subscribe will require you to have a library card to access it, however.

Silvana (silvaubrey) | 1803 comments I use StoryGraph but now I remember I haven't input anything in the last three months. For database it is okay, I like the UI.
Not sure about the discussion threads/groups, which to me is the best thing about GR.

DJay (djdjay) | 20 comments I'm trying to use this right now, but my biggest issue is the trying to export my reading list from GR. I started it yesterday and it's still trying to give me a list. I think it hung up. Going to try again tonight.

Eva They haven't finished analyzing me so I'm still waiting for recommendations, but even without them, it's amazing. E.g. I've found that that even though I've always loved reading light-hearted, funny books, I tend NOT to put them on my TBRs lately, instead filling them with "challenging" and "dark". I also adore that I can filter my huge "To Read" pile for a particular mood I'm looking for, or a keyword or trope.

Elizabeth Morgan (elzbethmrgn) | 303 comments I signed up earlier in the week after seeing a youtube video about it. The recommendations it gave me after importing my GR list are spot on, so far. I will probably stay on GR and use SG on the side, because I do enjoy the social side of GR.
