Renee Now that I've finished bingeing the ACOTAR series, I plan on finally finishing the ToG series. I'd also like to finally finish the last 2 books of the ASoIaF series.

I loved the ACOTAR series as well and just finished Kingdom of Ash at the beginning of this month. It was bittersweet to say goodbye to such a long-standing series. I also loved all the A Song of Ice and Fire books... all great choices! Good luck!

I've finished 4 books so far this month. Two spooky ones and two random romances.

The first book I finished was In the House in the Dark of the Woods. I bought this book a few months back having heard nothing about it because it sounded really good and like the type of horror I'm into. I ended up giving it 4 stars. I really enjoyed it even though it was bit weird and confusing. Other reviews I've read also say that they really liked it even though they didn't completely understand it. lol. If you like fairytale-esque horror stories set in the dark wood then you'll most likely enjoy this. I read this for the mini challenge to read a book set in a creepy forest and also for the monster hunt.

I also finished up an audiobook that I was listening to in the car, Beautiful Bastard. I've been listening/reading to Christina Lauren's backlog over the last year or so. I find I really enjoy their work, it's easy and fun. This title definitely leaned more towards the erotica side of things, more so than any other books I've read by them. I still really enjoyed it even though it's not my go-to genre. Some reviews gave this 1 or 2 stars calling the main character a creeper because he "stole underwear". Not true. The underwear thing is a playful thing between the characters. It annoys me that people say this in a review without any context making it sound like some gross perv sneaking into peoples underwear drawers. I gave it 4 stars.

I realized upon finishing the above audiobook that there was a novella out called Beautiful Bitch, following the same couple so I read the ebook of that. It was only about 120 pages long. It was cute and I read it in one sitting. I also gave that one 4 stars.

Then tonight I finished Mexican Gothic which I read with the Dragons & Tea Book Club and also for the Monster Hunt. I really loved it, not surprising since I've really enjoyed all Silvia Moreno-Garcia's books that I've read so far. This was really creepy horror set in the 1950's. I absolutely loved the snarky MC. If you want to read some of my favorite quotes from that book or my more in depth feelings and trigger warnings (a LONG list) you can see my review here. I gave this one 4.5 stars.

I'm still working on some other books. I'm about half-way through One by One, which I'm reading with the Literally Dead Book Club. I'm not that impressed so far and both women who's POV's we're following are pretty annoying. Hopefully something improves in the second half. I'm also a little past the half-way mark of Destroyer Angel which is the sequel to the random book I picked up on Kindle Unlimited last month. It's ok. At this point I'm finishing it just for the sake of finishing it. It's not terrible but it's not great either. I try to read at least one Kindle Unlimited title a month to make sure my membership isn't a total waste of money. I'm technically still reading The Night Tiger but I really don't know if I'm going to continue with it. I very rarely DNF books but it's just so slow. I'm not sure it's the story for me. I may give it one more shot later in the month, we will see. I'm still working on 20th Century Ghosts. I think I've read 4 stories so far and have only liked 1 of them. Joe Hill's writing is fantastic but the stories he's telling in this book have been downright stupid so far. Why he's wasting his talent on blow up dolls and giant bugs I do not know. I do know more than one person say his blow up doll story is brilliant.... don't look at me... I don't get it either.

Next, I really want to pick up My Best Friend's Exorcism. I've been trying to get to it forever and I also want to read the follow up companion The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. One other title I'm excited to finally read is Lady Midnight. I've finally reread every book in the series up until this one so that I can read it with the backstory fresh in my mind. It's been a long wait and I'm anxious to finally get into it.

Hope everyone is enjoying the various reading challenges this month and I can't wait to read your updates!

I've finished 4 more books since my last update.

After completing Mexican Gothic I finished One by One by Ruth Ware which I was reading with the Literally Dead book club. It was a 3 star book but I really enjoyed reading with others and seeing their opinions as well (Which were mostly the same as mine). I'm looking forward to reading her two gothic mysteries in the hopes that I'll like them more.

Then I picked up My Best Friend's Exorcism which was good since it had been on a few other TBR's before this. I'm glad to have finally read it. I did enjoy it and gave it 3.5 stars.

Following that I decided I should pick up one of the books for travel-a-thon and read Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab. This is the second installment in her middle grade series featuring a ghost hunter. I gave it 3 stars. I'll definitely be continuing on with the series.

Then today I finished Five Midnights. I'm glad to have read this one especially because I met this author at a book signing in NYC in 2018. I enjoyed meeting her very much and have been feeling guilty that I hadn't gotten to her book yet. I read it for the Fortnight Frights read-a-thon and gave it 4 stars.

I'm currently still making my way through 20th Century Ghosts. I'm currently reading Destroyer Angel on my Kindle and listening to Beautiful Stranger on audio. I also started The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires and plan to pick up The Only Good Indians as well.

Hope everyone is having a great reading month!
