One of my very favorites. Just had a stroke. Here's hoping for a recovery. Anyone want to discuss favorites/non-favorites while we wait?

That's too bad. I hope she pulls out of it. I recently read A Dark-Adapted Eye (by Barbara Vine, her pseudonym) and liked it a lot. I've read a couple other Vines and Rendells too. Some were better than others.

One of my favorite mystery authors, P.D. James died in November and I was so busy with houseguests I wasn't reading newspapers and didn't find out until a week ago. James was in her 90s.

And Henning Mankell has cancer, which he is fighting...not sure what kind or how lethal. He wrapped up the Wallander series already...
