I've just started chapter 5, so far so good :D Breakfast Club meets Gossip Girls, I love this! I highly recommend watching this movie if you haven't yet.
I like the writing style going from one point of view to the other but always going forward in the timeline, never seeing the same scene told twice by different characters.
I really liked the setting : (view spoiler)[ the fact that they seemed to be framed by someone placing a phone in their backpack to get them all together in detention. Also I don't think that one of the kids did it, I think it's someone from outside of the detention group (hide spoiler)] and I hope that (view spoiler)[ something is gonna blossom between Bronwyn and Nate! (hide spoiler)]

I finished chapter 17 and here are my thoughts

(view spoiler)[ I'm glad about the relationship between Bronwyn and Nate, I find it cute and it reminds me of my younger days (lolz) I was kind of the nerd/bookish girl to fall for the outlaw and rebel haha
I don't think that any of the kids did it, I want to blame it on Mr Avery and his aversion for phone and anything technologic but deep down I don't think it will be him.
I'm also considering Maeve, because she had access to his computer and stuff but I hope it's not her!
Other than that, I have no clue! (hide spoiler)]

Finished chapter 20 here's what I think :)

(view spoiler)[I love how the main characters are all starting to develop sides of them that we didn't know about like Addy getting more assertive or Bronwyn paying more attention to herself, etc.

I start to wonder what's the deal with Addy and the EpiPens in the nurse room, if she might have done something or lie about her presence there....

Also I'm adding Leah to my list of suspects because she's the only one with a motive but why trying to frame these 4? (hide spoiler)]

How is everybody else doing? :) Am I the only one at the moment? Please share your thoughts :D

I'm done with the book!

I have to admit that (view spoiler)[ I had though about Simon committing suicide but I quickly rejected that thought because A) that's just a horrible way to die and to inflict that to yourself B) he needed an accomplice to pursue things after but I didn't thing that it was possible since he didn't have a lot of friends.
But I guess that it all makes sense in the end... (hide spoiler)]

The book also made me reflect of my time in High School, what clique I belonged to and how different High School is in Belgium than in the US.

So far, I have no idea of who did it, but the book certainly could be shorter...
But it is good, anyways. :)

I finished last night and I gave it 3 stars.
Here is my opinion:
(view spoiler)[ for me was the "easy way" to finish... I thought about suicide and most of the time it was around my ideas, but I don't know... It seems easier way to finish the book. It was a possibility no one thought about, it never came from the police, the journalists, the lawyers, no character mentioned it (besides the last 2 chapters), and so on. I wish it was constructed ending, with real clues around and several theories...
Still is a good book, I enjoyed reading and I got curious. I just expected a better ending/solution.

I read this back in March. I also gave it 3 stars and felt the ending was not surprising or unique.

Here's my review:
It was pretty good and I did like how the characters were written and how they interacted and grew BUT it didn’t surprise me so that’s why I’m giving it three stars. I knew what was going to happen and I get upset when I can guess the plot points.

Anyone going to read the 2nd one? I don't know if I want to or not

I think I'll read the second one but not any time soon..
But I placed a hold at my local library of another novel that she wrote, Two Can Keep a Secret and I'll be reading that soon! If anyone wants to join :)

Let me know how it is! I don't know if I can squeeze it in this month. You should ask if anyone wants to buddy read it on the buddy read thread.

Maybe I'll ask for December because I'm fully packed for November already hahaha
