Omg! I’m a country girl and I never thought anyone would not know that 😂🤣. My mom was born in..."
I just realized your from Australia!! Cool!! Yeah, it’s a southern thing in the US 😊

I get the feeling it's like, out in the sticks/out bush. Like an isolated area? Interesting how the terminology is different everywhere you go!

Yeah, way way out in the sticks. Around here we have Heck holler, black sheep holler- that my mom swears is haunted, I’ve never been there cause I don’t go looking for ghost.

Ah okay thank you!
I have to admit, I am one of those people who, when I hear something is haunted, has a stronger desire to check it out.

The farm sounds wonderful, it's sad to hear your cousin doesn't make the most of it. Does he rent it out or anything?
I guess the important part is the memories, you know? No matter what happens to the farm, you will always have the memories of the time you spent there with your Mawmaw. No one can ruin that.

That’s very true.
No, he was going to build a house and live there with his wife and little girl. They just never got around to it. No, he doesn’t rent it out. It just gre back to grass/hay. I guess he didn’t want to deal with people and watching the land. He works a lot of hours as a guard in a government job. His wife is weird and a teacher. My aunt and uncle (his parents) live on some connecting land my grandparents have them years ago. I wish my parents got a home built on the land as well but they didn’t think about anything like that. Or think to ask. Now it’s technically that whole family that has all the land.
One of my grandmothers sister lives on a little parcel of land in the other side. My grandpa used to own the road but sold it to the town so he wouldn’t have to take care of it any more. I wish he would have just hired someone to take care of it. You know how the government is when they get hold of stuff. Anyway, I’ve rambled enough 😂

That's really interesting though! You live in the South?
I think it's always interesting to see what direction a story takes my mind. Because I don't know of any specific areas like the ones in this story, it's harder to picture. But I feel like if you have memories attached (even in a random, roundabout kind of way) to something similar it adds more to your interpretation of the story.

Yes, I am and you’re so right 😊
I'm up to page 50 or 33%. I skipped over a lot of the previous few pages. It felt like it was just the same thing over & over & the story wasn't going anywhere.

It does tend to go on about some things, I did skim a little in places.

Well that’s not good 😐

Not hard skimming, just a sentence or paragraph skim here and there to speed it up lol. I enjoyed it in the end, though! I feel like the pace was a little uneven but it was still creepy and had some really visual scenes. I'll be very curious about your final thoughts!
