Nikki-pops (nikkicolene) | 68 comments I would love some recommendations on good urban fantasy books/series. I have already read or am up to date on Kate Daniels, Hidden Legacy, Mercy Thompson, Chicagoland Vampires and Elemental Assassin series. Something similar to those mentioned would be much appreciated.

Crystal | 326 comments Absolutely read the Fever series if you haven't already, starting with Darkfever. It's one of the best urban fantasy series out there (the first book is the worst in the series but they get better and better and better).

And also absolutely read the Night Huntress series starting with Halfway to the Grave. Another solid urban fantasy right here.

These two are rock solid and very similar to the Kate Daniels/Chicagoland Vampires vibe (in fact I would argue that they are superior!)

If you have already read those too then maybe also consider Angels' Blood. It's also pretty decent (but I would recommend the first 2 to start off with!)

If you like Ilona Andrews, I think you should binge all of T.A. White books. Especially Shadow's Messenger, Rules of Redemption or Pathfinder's Way ( this is fantasy though)

Obsidian for YA UF.

Bound to the Battle God and this series for portal fantasy. But this is more of a standalones in a series kinda books.

I have more recs I think... because UF romance is like my fav genre ever. I'll get back to you when I can find more.

Gillian | 342 comments The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher is good. The first book is Storm Front. It's a long series and I believe that it's still on-going.
I've only read the first one in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, but I enjoyed it: Daughter of Smoke & Bone.

Marie (marie123) | 50 comments If you haven't read it yet, I recommend the Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs.
It is a spin-off from the Mercy books, about Charles (Bran's son). The first part of the story is Alpha & Omega which is a short story. I recommend getting Shifting Shadows as it's a collection of Mercyverse stories and it's included.

Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire My absolute favorite series, Highly recommend. Toby (main character) is so cool.

Discount Armageddon by Seanan McGuire is another REALLY fun world.

Written in Red by Anne Bishop

Bitten by Kelley Armstrong This is a long, long series. And it is worth the ride. There are also spin offs into YA books that are also really good.

Thank you Crystal! I have Halfway to the Grave lined up and I am up to date on the Angels' Blood series. I tried Darkfever but couldn't really get into it. I might try it again, since you say it gets better from the.

Taming Demons for Beginners this is very slow burn romance but the magical part was really interesting.

Sanctum more of a pnr rather than uf but seriously good.

A Touch of Darkness a Hades & Persephone retelling, but in modern world where Greek Gods lived among us.

The Golden Dynasty A portal fantasy (imagine Khal Drogo-esque and Daenerys-esque main couple)

Famine a post-apocalytic uf with an antihero. Hard to get into at first but it'll be worth it. (The second book of the series was even better imo)

Burn Another favourite of mine and the series surrounding the main couple is completed.

So excited for you! :D Halfway to The Grave is such a great read. Also yes I recommend just skimming through Darkfever and then heading to book 2 - the series gets better progressively each book in the series!
