so basically there was daemon, a succubus or incubus who worked as a postitue and was used by a queen, while he waited that angelique showed up to save him/he was promised to her.
the whole system of magic levels was represented in colours and diamonds/gemstones.. in the last blook of the series, angeliques diamonds were destroyed but that made her even more powerful now that she had splitters.

there was also one part where angelique could see the ghosts of dead children that were killed

and there was a tower..

This sounds like the Black Jewels trilogy by Anne Bishop. The first book is Daughter of The Blood, followed by Heir to the Shadows, then Queen of the Darkness.

The main characters are Jaenelle Angelline, Daemon SaDiablo, Saetan SaDiablo, and Lucivar Yaslana. Daemon works as a sex slave in the courts of the various queens lead by Dorothea and Hecate. All the characters wear jewels whose color indicates the character's power (Black strongest, White weakest).
