The Glade

The Maze
James runs along the path he took earlier, not even pausing to check and make sure Matt was behind him.
Matthew flies, through the Maze, pumping his short legs, to keep up with James.
James runs even faster, glancing at his watch and cursing the time for going so bloody fast.
The distance between Matthew and Lucas, shrinks until they are running side by side.
"We're not going to shucking make it in time." James curses.
Matthew curses, as the sky darkens.
"This is jacked up.We should have listened to the girls."
"This is jacked up.We should have listened to the girls."
"We make a run for the Glade? Or do us two slintheads continue on?" James asks willing to let Matthew make the choice.
Matthew looks over his shoulder.
The Glade is nowhere in sight.
"We're never gonna make it back in time. We have to keep going."
The Glade is nowhere in sight.
"We're never gonna make it back in time. We have to keep going."
"God we're jacked!" James shakes his head speeding forward full speed.
"Let's just keep going!" Matthew sighs, picking up the pace.
((Back in 5 minutes!))
((Back in 5 minutes!))
(Ok!) "Almost there!" The doors start closing.
"There! On that wall!" James points breathless to a plaque on the wall.
Matthew looks up at the wall, breathlessly.
On the wall is a plaque in a different language.
Matthew groans and bends over, placing his hands on his knees.
"What does that crap mean?"
"What does that crap mean?"
"I for some reason know Latin. Want to know shank?" James says catching his breath.
"Hello Group 72, we'll be in touch. Exactly what I said before." A wall starts shifting nearby, farther away is a whirring sound.
Matthew looks toward the noise, then turns to Lucas.
"Great, you're a bloody genius. But what does it mean?"
"Great, you're a bloody genius. But what does it mean?"
"No clue," the whirring sound is getting closer. *Whirrrr. click click click. whirrrr*
Matthew stands up straight, an icy hand clutching his heart.
"What was that?"
"What was that?"
"That I'm afraid I can answer, a Griever. Get ready, we need to get out of this dead end."
Clicking and whirring is getting closer. James dashes out of the corner and stops trying to locate the Griever.
((Comma in between stops and trying))
"Oh God, we're in deep klunk!" Matthew gasps, running up behind James.

Down the hall on the left side is the Griever, on the right side it is clear but no way out. James turns to Matthew and speaks quickly, "I run right, hopefully he follows me, you stay here, when he chases me run down left screaming. I'll dash out of there and towards the left. Hopefully this works and we can survive." James takes off running down the right screaming expletives at the Griever.

Matthew stays right where he is, and watches as James takes off down the right, shouting like a lunatic.
The Grieved slowly inches itself down the right passage. It goes past Matthew without a second thought.
Matthew freezes as the Griever contines down the right, towards his friend.
The Grieved is about five feet past Matthew now, three away from James. "Run! You bloody buggin' slintheaded shuck-faced shank!" He screams at Matthew.
Matthew snaps out of his daze and takes off running, his legs pumping as hard as they can.
Marie runs into him, coming around the corner.
Matthew shouts, then falls back, certain he's about to meet his death.
But then his eyes adjust to the darkness and he sees two thin figures, in front of him.
"Marie, Margaret?"

"Marie, Margaret?"
"Yes, get ready to run," Marie says, taking the apple from her apron she aims for the Griever. It hits the target in the head, spinning around, it faces Marie, confused.
Margaret helps Matthew to his feet, then looks over at Marie, who has just become the griever's newest target.
"Uh, now would be a good time!"
"Uh, now would be a good time!"
"Go!" Marie screams at them, then turning back to the Griever she tells him how she'd cook him up for dinner and serve him. The Griever started moving slowly torwards her. Whirrrr click click click whirrrrr.
Matthew and Margaret take off running, dashing past the griever.

"Come on! You lazy piece of slime! Come and get me!" Marie screams, then takes off around the bend torwards Matt and Marge.
Matthew and Margaret rush down the Maze, as the griever slowly turns and starts its pursuit.
((Sorry for the wait! I got busy! 🙂)) James dashed out the other way behind the Griever, Marie follows Matthew and Margaret down the corridors.
((No prob!))
The trio race down the dark Maze corridor.
Matthew looks over his shoulder and spots James.

He stops and turns down the way he came leaving the girls behind.

Matthew turns on his heels and leads the grievers, pass James,
"Yeah follow me!" He shouts, slowly edging himself into a dead end.
Before they can corner him, Margaret reaches into her pocket and grabs her shovel.
"Hey catch!" She screams at the grievers, hurling it though the air.
The grievers slowly turn and Matthew dashes out of the dead end and joins his friends.

Matthew and James lock eyes, Suddenly remembering,
Matthew reaches into his pocket and grabs his hand knife.
