Rose | 7 comments I've been looking for a BR I remember reading years ago but so far I've been unsuccessful in finding it. Maybe one of you knows which one I'm looking for...? :)

I only remember that it was either a series or a 2-stories in one kind of thing.
The story started off with 2 sisters on a wagon trail West and they are attacked by either bandits/Native Americans. I believe their parents were also on the wagon and were killed but I'm not 100% sure. The first story was about the elder sister and her tribe chief who "rescued her" and the 2nd about her sister. I'm looking for that 2nd story.
The younger sister was raped when the attack happened (or captured and then raped later by her captors - different ones than those that got the older sister) and only rescued a while later by the male lead of the first story/her sister's guy. She was quite traumatized by the event and did not trust men after that. If I remember correctly, she became a teacher. The younger brother of her rescuer (or some younger tribe member her age) tried to take care of her after she was brought back to the camp and later on, when she was an adult, confronted her about her fear of all men etc.

I'm sorry it's really only a rough outline.. I don't remember more of it anymore unfortunately. But maybe this rings a bell for someone? :)

Not exactly sure if these are the books you're looking for, but what you just described sounds like Comanche Moon & Comanche Heart to a T.

In book 1 the younger sister is brutally raped, and the male lead (love interest of the older sister) rescues her. In the second book the younger sister is a teacher and the romance is with the guy's younger brother (or younger relative/friend). Her fear of men is a big theme.

It's one of my favorite historical romances. Catherine Anderson is a good author.

Rose | 7 comments The titles do sound familiar, so there's a high chance that these are indeed the books I was looking for. Thank you so much, Meredith!

No problem. Everything you described fits those two books pretty closely. Amy & Swift were the two characters names. In book 1 Swift becomes friends with Amy (after her ordeal), but then they're later separated. In book 2 she's teaching in the new camp in Oregon and Swift comes back...a lot of the book is about Swift & Amy reconnecting again. Anyway, I hope that's the one!

Rose | 7 comments I started reading Comanche Moon today, and it turns out it really was the series I was looking for. And I'm totally in love with the story again. The angst, the conflicts and good writing. So happy I found it again. Thank you! <3
