Hi,
I would like to entertain the group with my creative novel, The Harlem Story. It is an epic action/adventure about gifted singers from Mississippi who relocated to Harlem after their parents were murdered by the Klan. Originally written as an integrated, musical screenplay, this romantic tale incorporates R&B, gospel, and Hip Hop song lyrics and ideas from my script. The first chapter is my James Baldwin-like autobiography about my struggles with family and writing while living in Harlem since the 1960s.

Ed Protzel (ed_protzel) | 11 comments SOMETHING IN MADNESS, my just-released historical novel, is set in 1865 Mississippi during early Reconstruction, when unregenerate Confederates still ran the South as newly freed Blacks were trying to begin their lives anew. Not only does the book depict post-Civil War oppression of freedmen, it also foreshadows Jim Crow, segregation and ongoing racial strife. I'd love to discuss with the group. The relevance to today is, sadly, striking.

Available in print and eBook on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, or order from your local bookstore (refer to ISBN # 978-1-952816-10-9). More info at: http://www.edprotzel.com/
