Marielle | 15 comments I recently added a new edition to a book which was recalled. All the existing editions of the book were pulped by the publisher, although of course some still exist in circulation.

I've added that the edition was recalled in each description of the recalled editions, and also a note in the new one, but not sure if that's the correct approach. Wondering if someone else could have a look! The book is https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Also, in search the old edition shows up. I found this page saying how to set primary edition, but I can't actually find it in the edit page anywhere: https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

lethe | 16359 comments Only the author (if they have a claimed profile, which this one doesn't) can set the default edition.

We generally only add a "no longer available" note to the description upon the author's request. There are so many out-of-print editions in the database that it would be undoable to add that to all of them.

That said, your note looks good to me.

ETA I added 'Revised edition' in the edition field of the new one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
