For related records, please feel free to DM me directly, as I am a subject-matter expert on Western and Tibetan esotericism, and this can get quite convoluted with multiple reprints, pseudonyms, and misattributions. Like, all of these variant Mathers profiles will continually reappear as every different public-domain printer decides to enter the name differently.

I assumed Walter Y. Evans-Wentz was retained for a reason but, as a profile with the single Evans-Wentz book not under W.Y. Evans-Wentz, should Walter Y. Evans-Wentz be dealt with as a pseudonym would be?

I could add him, but it's only a preface and there are 453 editions.

FWIW, I've worked a lot on Evans-Wentz. He will forever be a problem, but the "main" record should remain W.Y. Evans Wentz, which will need perpetual combining from all of the imported variants, which will continually reappear. He is Sisyphus in person.

Walter Y. Evans-Wentz appears only once, albeit on a book with 450 plus editions. All other books have W.Y. Evans-Wentz, at least for now, and W.Y. Evans-Wentz is cross-referenced in the Walter Y. Evans-Wentz profile.

That’s only because I keep cleaning it up, which I spent about 2 hours doing after the above post. Variants come in regularly with different punctuation; no hyphen, one period, space after period, interpolated dates, etc. Like for most popular PD authors, but in this case complicated by being associated with other popular authors and Tibetan names.

Almost anything with a Tibetan name is likely to be a nightmare for any Librarian who is not a subject-matter expert, which I am relatively speaking. Also, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (aka, H.P. Blavatsky, Madame Blavatsky, etc. ad infinitum) moves every other week it seems and is a nightmare of such proportions that I am loath to return to it at all, if I could even find her now.
