Time to Vote for the December Tag

Just voted....

If Westerns is selected, I definitely have some cheesy Christmas cowboy romances that should fit. LOL. High on that list is The Last Christmas Cowboy!

If Western wins, I’ll hit you up for some suggestions. Lol. I’ll take a look at this first one first, though.

I’m glad you and Nicole will have my back if Western wins. Lol.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I hope you have a good day! Tomorrow is my husband’s birthday so it’s definitely a great time of year for a birthday.

Happy birthday, Judith! It would feel a little like a birthday present to me as well. Small pleasures and this is definitely a year to make small pleasures work for you.
Voted - not Westerns please! International will help me complete some of my other challenges.

I know what I want won't win, but threw some points at it anyway.
Actually these are all pretty great as far as my TBR list goes, I could make any of them work. I really hated this months tag and still have not gotten or read a book for it.

In defense of westerns... besides NicoleR's Christmas cowboy romances ... ahem, and mine! ... I bet if you checked out some of tbe books read for Poll Tally tags like Rocky Mountains, Grand Canyon, and such, you will find plenty, like the Katie Ruggles K-9 thrillers, some mystery and thriller series by CJ Box and Paul Bart. It is not all Zane Grey.

OMG I can't get away from Schrodinger's cat. It's been mentioned in at least 4 books, including one I just read.

OMG I can't get away ..."
I wonder if Schrodinger ever realized what a gift he handed to fiction writers.

I'm really in the mood for an Irish or British Romantic Comedy or feel good story that didn't fit any poll tags.

You're right. Happy Birthday!
I have also seen a large number of references to the Leonard Cohen poem and quote -
“There is a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in.”

The cat is alive, it's just from another country! There are a lot of contemporary romance books coming out of the UK, so the International tag might be your best bet. There are a lot of regency romances, feel-good novels, mystery series, literary fiction, crime novels, war and spy stories that fit the International tag too.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!"
Thanks! ( to all) I've had a great day.

My initial reaction would be this.... but it's the most specific (so I'm hoping for it), and I suspect I probably do have a few on my tbr, even if I don't think I do!

Happy happy birthday!

You need Stephanie Laurens' Lady Osbaldestone - Regency English Village full of Christmas traditions. First is Lady Osbaldestone's Christmas Goose
I can recommend the Wallender series for a Swedish mystery series, and if you like it Book 2 would cover Latvia as well!

I didn't know that one. It wasn't on the one record album my aunt passed onto me. I used to be really into free verse poetry and Leonard Cohen, but no longer have the book she gave me or the LP. When I graduated from high school I was in a new school and used one of his poems for my little blurb since I didn't really have connections there (they were all at two of my other high schools).
So of course now I am listening to that song ("Anthem") on Youtube.

I'm not sure I've heard the song either, but I heard the lines (about the light getting in) so many times I googled it. I'll look for the song too. I could use some new music, especially now that I'm reading at a more relaxed pace.

Westerns I don't usually read, but I would try for a challenge, however I can't see this winning. Not even close!

Team Unappealing Pick? Team Not My Cup of Tea?
The key to a good cowboy romance is cover art.

I already read a ton of westerns this year for poll ballot - for the frontier, pioneers, grand canyon, antebellum and rocky mountains tags. I even had one about an 1849 gold mining town. I'm amazed people still have any left on their tbrs. None of mine had sexy cowboys on the cover though.

Thanks for the reminder.
FYI Audible now has three of her books for FREE (for members).

If I wanted to, I could spend the whole month virtually traveling the UK via International holiday books. It would be nice to read a beach holiday book from Australia, or something from South America too.

Have you already read The Odyssey? And Les Mis? There are a number of good ones in their that I've read that cover many genres (for example, on the second page there's a scifi classic, Hyperion, but that was only 3 stars for me.) If epic wins, I have no idea what I'll read but I will say it was my second choice in the voting.
I'm with Amy--anything but western! Although there is at least one western epic novel there that's on my tbr.

OK yes - Odyssey would definitely work for Epic and I own a copy. I always put it off, but now that I've read Circe and couple other books, I have a greater interest in it.
I really liked Becky Chambers' space series, and I would love to find others like this.
