I've got a couple of questions...

1. I need some help working in the book Dead to the World into the challenge. I'm going to use Club Dead in 5.6 and I really want to use Dead to the World.

2. I'm a trainee Librarian can anyone suggest a couple of good books for 30.1. I was thinking about using Blind Submission as the main character works with books but I'd actually like to hear some suggestions as to what I could use.

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1114 comments 1. Does it work for any of the math tasks?

2. Books about librarians, eh? The only one that comes (immediately) to mind is Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians by Brandon Sanderson, but I guess the main guy ISN'T a librarian... so I don't even know if that would work. My husband said it was a fun little read, though.

Greyweather Don't Charlaine Harris' Aurora Teagarden books feature a Librarian protagonist?

If you are interested in reading The Time Traveler's Wife, Henry is a librarian.

Ok, got a new question. On October 20th (in Australia) Matthew Reilly's new Book the Five Greatest Warriors is coming out. Where can I put this in the challenge because I am going to read in (hopefully) when it does come out and I would like to count it in!

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1114 comments 3-word title?

I thought that the only problem is is that The is at the start of the title and I dunno is The is supposed to be counted or not

You're right, "the" counts as a word. Sara probably didn't realize it was a part of the title.

I thought it might. Any other suggestions?

Greyweather Kathryn wrote: "Would it fit for any of the math ones?"

The only math task it might work for with Sophie's numbers would be multiplication. The page count on Goodreads, 320, would work. The page count on Amazon, 400, would not.

You might luck out and find it works for 15.8 Geography Lessons, since the story is likely to be set in multiple countries, one might correspond to one of your initials.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I dunno... I remember that the country that the previous book ended in was Africa! My Initals are S. J. M. I don't think I'm gonna luck out on that one!

Kate (kathrynlouwca) | 1002 comments What about study abroad?

message 19: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 02, 2009 04:53AM) (new)

Nah it won't work for study abroad. The book is writen by an Australian Author and being an Australian I think I speak Australian English pretty well!

Would it work for 10.7?
Can You Read Faster Than A Speeding Bullet? - Christopher Reeve, Famous For His Role As Superman, Was Born On September 25, 1952...
• In Honor Of Him Read A Novel About Heroes/Heroines/Superheroes/Super-heroines
OR
• An (Auto)Biography Of Your Personal Hero/Heroine

I only thought that it might work there because they are trying to save the world from being destroyed!

Usako (bbmeltdown) | 1256 comments You'd have to ask Cynthia on the Superheroes part...if they are trying to save the world, it's possible but she may want "super powers" of sorts. Maybe. Then again they're heroic. I'd ask!

20.2 Erin's Task: This could work in the ABC Title challenge. T for The or F for Five. That particular one lets you choose to use The or not at the beginning of the title.

Does it rhyme with a poetry book? See 25.1 for Nicole Oh's task.

Is there a prophecy in this novel? Could work for 25.5

I am so jealous. I love his books and can't wait for the new one, but it doesn't come out until January in the US. The cliffhanger in the last one is killing me!

message 22: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1114 comments Yep, the THE wasn't capitalized, so I didn't realize it was part of the title. Good luck!!

There are seven African countries that begin with M and eight that begin with S. Middle initials aren't eligible.

No, she travels to another world (a la Alice in Wonderland) not through time.

You know from what I can remember from the whole series, Seven Ancient Wonders (the first book) was based around this scripture and a certain linage was able to read it once they got to a cetain age. Six Sacred Stones and Five Greatest Warriors continue on from there - off the top of my head I can't remember if it is a prophecy or not I'll have to go and check it out!

I'll also have to ask Cynthia if it counts as the superhero part!

Tell me about it! Completely forgot that his new one was someone out (6 Scared Stones) until mum mentioned that Matthew Reilly was on a Morning TV program that she always watches. I then found out that the book came out a couple of weeks before. WELL the next time I was in town I bought the book and finished reading it the next day...

I've been waiting since 2007 to find out what happens!

What makes things worse is that I can't buy it the day it comes out because I have to work - and on top of that Mum isn't going to the nearest town that has got a proper bookshop for another couple of weeks after it comes out... I think I have to wait and see if Target is getting it in because other wise I have to wait for the waiting list here at work to die down before I get to read it!

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok, I have 2 books that I want to use for the challenge. The first is Bare Bones and the other is Murder In Montparnasse. I'm going to mention that they are both Audio Books and I've already started using another book for the Lets Get Pysical part of the task!

message 30: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1114 comments * Have you checked the math task?
* You could use them for your 2-word and 3-word titles.
* A-B-C task for one?
* Person/Place/Thing task: Murder in Montparnasse as the PLACE and Bare Bones for the THING...
* If FEAR plays a major role in either of those books, you could use it for the EMOTION part of Task 50.1
