Alyssa Lane As long as it was considered normal things that people would eat, I think it counts.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3794 comments Thanks everyone!

Does anyone have a good fiction recommendation for "- Read 1 book where someone is a soldier or in the military." I'm thinking probably something WWI/WWII?

OR

- Read a book where someone runs out of batteries

message 8411: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Lane Post apocalyptic is probably where I'd look for running out of batteries. I can't think of any off hand at the moment though :/
YA Fantasy is good for soldiers too, if you don't want to go the historical fiction route :)

message 8412: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3794 comments Awesome thanks Alyssa. I may just have to hope to stumble on someone running out of batteries.

Also are we getting any more monsters? I think I only have one big one left!

message 8413: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments If you are into romance, there are lots of ones with soldier mc's

message 8414: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Lane For batteries, i think the one I used was, They Who Fell by Kevin Kneupper. Pretty sure someone ran out of batteries in that one. It's post apocalyptic with Angels having taken over earth.

message 8415: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments I used Wild From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed for someone running out of batteries.

message 8416: by Morgan (new)

Morgan (faeriesfolly) | 522 comments I am pretty sure for batteries I used: The End Games

For soldier/military I think I did Code Name Verity.

City of Thieves is another one that would work and one of my favs. Different look at the war than usual.

message 8434: by Lauren (last edited Sep 26, 2017 12:08PM) (new)

Lauren (laurenv) | 137 comments Use this HTML:

<*img src="" height="" width="" alt="">

without the *. You can right click on any picture and copy image address and paste it in the first quotes (make sure it ends in .jpg, .png, or any other picture format). Height, width and alt are optional, but you can use height and width to change the image size and alt is a description of the picture.

Example:

<*img src="http://cdn3-www.dogtime.com/assets/up..." height="153" width="192" alt="Puppy">

Puppy

message 8435: by Halli (new)

Halli | 500 comments Does anyone have a book by an author with the name "Grace"? I'm trying to finish up my puppy quest (this is the only task left!), and I have yet to find an author named Halli, so I'm thinking my middle name is the way to go. Happy to pay gold for one!

message 8436: by Laventeli (new)

Laventeli | 168 comments Thanks Lauren! My problem was that i did not remember how to get the image address.

message 8437: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3794 comments For "- Read 1 book where someone is a soldier or in the military." does that person have to be active in the military in the book? Or can he be a retired vet that still talks/relives his military service?

Zuzana | 2568 comments Kelly, would you accept Breakaway for "read a book where the moon is destroyed"?
synopsis of the book: "set in the year 1999, nuclear waste stored on the Moon's far side explodes, knocking the Moon out of orbit and sending it, as well as the 311 inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha, hurtling uncontrollably into space."

Sure

Zuzana | 2568 comments Thanks, Kelly. :)
That task is one of the hardest. I found only one other book about the moon being destroyed: Seveneves.

message 8441: by Zuzana (last edited Oct 01, 2017 01:10AM) (new)

Zuzana | 2568 comments Kelly, how should we calculate Correction Fluid's AP when we have Rocky and the shield?

Correction Fluid...
10 attack (+5 per round, first increase on second round)

a)
first round
10-2=8

second round
8+5-2=11

third round
11+5-2=14

or

b)
first round
10-2=8

second round
10+5-2= 13

third round
10+5+5-2=18

and so on?

I would think b) but I'm not sure. TIA.

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments Not Kelly, but I think second one is correct. At least that's how I'd go with it.

message 8450: by Laventeli (new)

Laventeli | 168 comments Question about quest "The Power of Red". It says
"Read 3 sets of uncharged and charged books. To charge a book take an uncharged books title and add one word to it."

Can the charged title have more words than one added? Or is it strictly uncharged title plus one.
