Hello everyone. My name is Natasha. I had seen this challenge around for a while now and decided to finally start my own quest. I did notice that some stuff hasn't been updated for a while, but it seems like I'll have enough quests to keep me busy for a while. :)

Yeah, Kelly is been busy with RL so there weren't new stuff for a while. And I don't dare to try something as I have no idea where she was going with things.


If you need help, people here are great. Just buy them a pint or some rat stew :P

I understand how RL can get busy. And like I said, I don't mind no new stuff for a while as it seems like I'll have plenty to keep me busy.

I just discovered I have around 150 books in my tote waiting to be put to use here. And there are still monsters to kill....

Hey everyone! How's it going! How's life? Can you believe this challenge started almost 4 YEARS AGO?!

OMG I never updated and caught up 😔 and it's been that long! 😱

I haven't updated in a while - it takes so much time! But I might update my weapon if we get more quests or something.

I was just thinking about this challenge this morning...

My hero took a sabbatical for a while but after Zuzana's incredible defeat of that last Zombie, I started again. Though I've only done it on my spreadsheet so need to update everything here!

I've really missed this challenge, it has always been my favorite. Hoping for more monsters or quests soon!!!!!

Me too! It always kept me sooo motivated and forced me to read some books I never would have found otherwise.

Wow! 4 years! Time sure flies.

I don't play this one as religiously as I did in the beginning, but I always make sure to up-date. This is my favorite challenge.

I love this challenge. I just really need a new goal. I killed off all of the zombies and now there are no baddies left. I sure as hell have tons of unfinished quests but I don't "need" to finish any of them with all the rare monsters killed.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to an update. Hope for one before the year' s over. Would be really nice. :D

It would be perfect for the NRPG. If any of the mods could add NRPG specific rewards to those quests (eg potions/items like ingredients and XP) we could use them here no problem.

Hi, Zuzana! I haven't been playing for awhile, but still get updates on the threads. Congrats on all the monsters!! I was so behind I didn't do the massive update from last October so most of the monsters are out of my reach. It's sad this has seemed to be forgotten about though!

I would love that. I’m in the same boat. I love this little challenge and it sucks that half the things are unfinished and there’s so much to build upon.

I agree with you Zuzana. I saw that challenge and thought the same thing. I love this challenge but with no updates, I have gotten out of the habit of fighting monsters.

Hi, fellow adventurers! I'm trying to get a shiny Lucky 13 collar for my kitty, but I'm stuck on
"a book where the moon and/or the sun is destroyed".
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. TIA.

(P.S.: I found this book: Breakaway but it's a media tie-in for a 40 years old tv show and I just don't feel like reading a book I most likely won't enjoy.)

Wow that's hard! I don't think I've ever read a book like that. But doesn't MARGARET ATWOOD have series about the world ending maybe?

I haven't finished that quest yet (or even trained my kitty - that last fish book, ugh); but I happened to come across a short story where the moon is destroyed in The Truth Is Dead.

It wasn't a particularly stellar book though. I got it from the library. I'm not sure I'd recommend you actually spend money on it...

Yeah, Rebecca, it's really hard to find a book like that. Google search brought one other result in Seveneves. Looks better than Space 1999, breakaway but still not something I would pick up on my own.

I started reading Death from the Skies!: These Are the Ways the World Will End.... It's a non fiction book that explains science behind Earth destruction. So far it deals with asteroids and comets. I hope that at least one chapter is dedicated to our sun going nova. *fingers crossed*

I so lost all track. I'm not even sure where I'm at with it and not sure if I should restart

I use an Excel spreadsheet to track my progress - regular battles, healing and harvest (eggs, lemons, nuts, etc.). It's quite handy. Most of the time I log only a date and "details later", then when I have time I copy data from my spreadsheet. It's much easier.

BTW Carmen, I toyed with the idea of creating a brand new hero and start over, too. But I'm too lazy for that.

Assuming metaphores and less scientific versions are allowed, losing/killing/destroying sun is common element in a more mythical setting. I found mine in siberian fairytale collection.

Moon destruction options: NK Jemisin's Broken Earth series; Seveneves (Neal Stephenson)
Sun destruction: bit of a stretch, but in Tau Zero the universe dies...
