Hi Chandler,

Personally, I have been recording my monster fights like this:

Sewer Rat- 3AP | 5HP 12/30/21
(view spoiler)
Next Available: 1/6/22

It's fairly simple and easy to understand for me. I *might* leave some of the roleplay out of it when I get to higher level monsters which, naturally, will mean longer battles. Hope that helps, and welcome, friend.

Saar The Book owl | 728 comments I've got a minor health potion and my HP is 11/18. If I use it, how much health will I have then? Haven't played for a while and it's my first time using a health potion.

Minor Health Potion heals for 5HP, so you would be at 16/18.

Bobbi (schadenfreudian) | 463 comments Silly question for you lovely people. I have 11/12 HP, and I am about to go up a level. Do I return to full HP when this happens or am I still 1 down?

Thank you in advance.

You return to full HP so I recommend you to fight a monster that will give you more rewards without killing you as you will recover fully once you level up.

Soelo | 60 comments For Questanomics, does an ordinal number qualify? For example, A Second Chance by Jodi Taylor is book number three in the series.

message 9109: by Zuzana (last edited Jan 19, 2022 06:58AM) (new)

Zuzana | 2568 comments Soelo, I checked out the link in the quest description where the inflationary language is explained. There's quite a long example. Going by this sentence: "Bob had been fond of Anna, his one-and-a-half sister, ever since she saw the light of day for the second time." As "the first time" was inflated into "second time" I guess that you're right and ordinal numbers qualify. :)

Bobbi (schadenfreudian) | 463 comments I have done some digging, friends and found the following articles: January's Most Anticipated New YA Novels, Readers' Most Anticipated Books of January, and most interestingly Snowed In! Mysteries and Thrillers for the Wicked Cold.

In that particular article, all of the books are set in winter, perfect for cold weather reading. I found about 5 more books to add to my ever growing TBR.

Right? In crafts, we have this term, SABLE (Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy). There needs to be a book version of that for TBR piles.

In the board game community, it's GAD - Game Acquisition Disorder (and yes, I have that too 😅).

Jennifer Fuentes | 4 comments Hello, Fellow Adventurers!!

My, what a lovely tavern! Great place for a chat! Anyone willing to treat a stranger to a pint? I may be new in town, but a traveler does get thirsty. Hahaha!

I’m looking forward to learning more about the ins and outs of this town and how I can transform this measly sword and staff (man, they are so weak, I mean really…I couldn’t fight a sewer rat with this!) into true weapons of the realm.

A welcome basket!?!? Thanks! That WILL come in handy!

Oh, yeah…name’s Lady Crystalline. It’s nice to meet you all.

:)

Sara | 1294 comments A bit late to the party maybe, but I wanted to share with you all my fellow knights who enjoy listening to audiobooks this GR article, 39 Audiobooks to Be Better in 2022. It's probably not everyone's cup of tea given that most of them are "self-help" books, but as for me there are quite some titles which are on my TBR already and many others I'd like to explore. Just wanted to share in case anyone else is interested too :)

Bobbi (schadenfreudian) | 463 comments Hello again friends, I need quest help if someone would be so kind.

I'm going to attempt 5,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the instructions are as follows: To determine the amount of leagues travelled by a single book, round down to the nearest 100 pages, then calculate 2 to the power of the number of hundreds of pages. (Hint: use the xy button on the calculator).

So for example, I just finished a 262 page book. Rounding down to 200, am I correct that the equation would be 2 to the power of 2, or 2 squared? If so, would that book equal 4 leagues or 400?

Sorry for the silly question. I passed university level calculus, I swear. 😅

Kathryn (kathrynr227) | 66 comments Hello fellow adventurers! I went exploring for interesting articles and found the following three to be rather interesting. The last one I list will have been my favorite!

March's Most Anticipated New YA Novels
Travel Back in Time With These New Historical Fiction Novels
64 Top Nonfiction Books to Read for Women's History Month

I found so many books to add to my TBR shelf in these articles! xD
The last article I found most interesting because I don't often delve into non-fiction. However, I found many of the books there to be worth a read, I feel, especially one about the 5 women killed by Jack the Ripper. The book is called The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper.

♞ Pat Gent | 916 comments So I have been wandering far afield to complete my Academy Level 2 Quest, sliding down one rabbit hole after another and swelling my already overly full TBR mountain to epic proportions.

The quest I am finding myself on this day is the following one :
1 ~ Visit the Goodreads blog: News & Interviews & check out at least 3 of their articles. (link to the articles you read & report on the most interesting one in The Local Tavern)

There are so many articles of interest, but since my day-filling job duties find me at the library from sunup to sundown five days a week, I am always interested in books that are upcoming. Goodreads never disappoints me in this regard.

What IS interesting is how some editors manage to predict with extreme accuracy what my community will want to get their hands on, and how others don't seem to have a single clue. People are funny, reading tastes vary, and reader's advisory is a big thing in my corner of the world. My library patrons know that Historical Fiction is "my thing" so it was nice to see so many interesting titles coming my way to talk to them about for this year.

Awesome!!

So let's roughly make it something like:

May 20th: Chapters 1-7
May 21st: Chapters 8-14
May 22nd: Chapters 15-21
May 23rd: Chapters 22-28
May 24th: Chapters 29-end
