MORT! <3
I made a Death of Rats costume for my plastic halloween-store standing-up rat skeleton and we put him out for our Day of the Dead Party every year (well, all year really lol, but more prominently then).

1. Rose Bush: Does it produce 3 roses on the 1st of the month? Or.. spread out? The 1st makes sense to me since we have other things that happen on the 1st (e.g. merely kats).
2. If the Rose Bush produces on the 1st of the month, does that mean Radagast must be active on the 1st to double the rose production? Or would it work if he was active any times the prev month? (Since I assume the plant takes from the 2nd of the month until the 1st of the next month to produce roses... if that makes sense).
3. And this is completely self-serving as I have two (TWO!!) books that have "carrot" in them 4 times (FOUR, not FIVE, arghhhh): Can we use more than one book to satisfy The Great Easter Egg-scapade! Part 4 "Read a book where "carrot" or "carrots" appears at least five times"?

How cute!!

Yup, you're right, it's 3 roses on the 1st of the month.

Just to make it simple, I'd say he needs to be active on the 1st of the month for the bonus to kick in.

I so get it, Ray. I had the same problem with the "deep"/"depth" for the well quest, and I kept looking for another book. I guess finding that one book with the required number of words is the challenge. Sorry!
Thanks for the questions and now go and collect your 3XP and 3 Gold. :)

thx! :)

Ray,
so far, none. If you check the Monsters thread, each post has a title that identifies the monster category.
One of the second generation dragons could fit the category, but it wasn't identified as such when it was introduced, so it still counts as "only!" rare.

Okay, good! I thought I was missing something. 🤪

“The Great Easter Egg-scapade! Part 3
• Defeat 20 Common monsters (!Timed monsters don't count!)”
…barring any fancy hats, this should take 5 weeks, right? 20 monsters / 4 common monsters a week = 5 weeks.
Common are just the goblin/goblin guard, rat/greater rat, bat, and lemur, right?

🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I can’t believe I forgot about that. Thanks Cathy!

I'm surprised by just how many books there are that fit the double XP requirement! And I don't see any repeats yet, either. Queen Skye will have many names to choose from. ;)

three new quests launching on 5/1/25 are now live!
You can find all the details in the Notice Board thread here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Yeah, so many book titles including names.
And great job, y'all, with the variety of names. I believe that Sarah is right with no repeats so far.

Bahahaha, one quiz said I'm sith and the other said jedi. :p

LOL! Ray, it's almost like you NEED to do the quest twice. Now you only need to decide whether you want to be a fallen Jedi or a redeemed Sith. :)

Anybody interested in mentoring them for some easy XP?

I was planning on doing the higher Rocks #6-10 in another post later on, fyi.

Not me, sorry. But I did leave her a gift in the Apprenticeship thread ;)

Yup, Ray, Rock counts as 1 Uncommon Monster no matter what number.
BTW I really appreciate your battle breakdowns. They're super helpful. :)

New spell, May Classifieds and one Royal Announcement! ;-)

Thank you :)

This are some of the most interesting articles for me. It's also one of my goal this year to read classics book and nonfiction, since I read a lot of fiction mostly fantasy and thrillers.
I also put books that put you out of reading slump, as there are times that I hit that phase of my life. lmao

Gain levels by reading taller pyramids of page numbers. A book that's 350 pages may count for a 300+ book, a 200+ book or a 100+ book.
So in the example a 300 page book can work for 100, 200 or 300 levels. For series books, can we use the same reasoning? So a #3 series book can be used for #1, #2 or #3 levels?

Cathy, since leveling up the Sword is considerably more demanding than the Staff, I don’t think applying the same level of flexibility to the Magic Staff is necessary. For higher-numbered books in a series, the Book Cover (available through the Jump the Queue quest) can help fill in those gaps. And earlier books in a series are generally easier to find (or bartered through the Open Market) compared to, say, sourcing a 1500+ page tome.
So it’s a no for now. But I genuinely welcome suggestions. If something feels wildly unbalanced (looking at you, Lance quest), feel free to speak up. I may not always bend, but I like to believe (delude myself, really) that I’m a reasonable overlord. Try me.

Thought I'd ask because when you get higher in series #s (say 25+), there aren't as many series/books that are in the higher #s. I've read higher # books in the In Death series (40's-50's) so it would be awesome to use them for lower #s. Also, since we only get to fight the Kelpie every two weeks, and fighting the Fiery Imp uses both Kelpie skins received every month, there aren't a whole lot of Kelpie skins to use for Book Covers, or duplicate.

As for Kelpies, use the twins, Cathy - TADA! 4 Kelpie skins a month!

As he was then celebrating his 8th birthday I think it's apt for us to have a quest celebrating his 18th birthday. A royal Prince coming of age - deserves a party!

As for Kelpies, use the twins, Cathy - TADA! 4 Kelpie skins a month!"
Oh wow, forgot about that! Thanks!

1/ What are Event Monsters?
Event Monsters are unique creatures that appear exclusively during specific events or quests. While they don't fall under the usual Rare or Uncommon categories, they are noteworthy enough to be classified separately.
Examples include the Halloween Monsters (here), the Easter Omnibus Troll and Sir Peepocalypse from the Easter quests, and various monsters from the long-ago White Dragon event.
2/ Which Crops Does Radagast Double?
Radagast’s bonus—“If you possess a garden, it will double the yield of your crops”—might seem ambiguous at first. It doesn’t specify that the crops must be harvested from the garden.
My interpretation is that owning a garden signals your commitment as a gardener, and Radagast rewards that dedication by doubling all crop yields, regardless of whether they grow in the garden or in a pot.
Radagast’s crop bonus includes:
• Carrots
• Peas
• Clumps of Dirt
• Roses
• Lemons
(other crops might be added later as the game develops new features)
3/ For the Where Roses Bloom Quest – Task: “Plant Your Flowers” - Read three books with flowers on the cover or in the title.
Do the flowers on the cover need to be real or alive? What about jewelry shaped like flowers?
As long as the floral shapes are clear and recognizable (not just decorative frills), jewelry or other artistic representations of flowers do count toward this task. The key is that they must visually resemble flowers—no guesswork required.
