Tia (fatgirlfatbooks) Yup, her name is Andraste who was a war goddess supposedly called upon by Boudicca during battle:

Andraste

Kari (mazuka) | 427 comments Good for all of you.

I have books in tote but no gold this time around. This month hasn't been a very productive reading month for me I am afraid to say.

Tia (fatgirlfatbooks) Thanks for the compliments, guys. =)

Thanks, Riva! I appreciate the ale!

I'm probably going to be a relatively slow Quester - I don't read as fast as a lot of people on here do - but I thought this sounded fun! Nothing like drinking ale and slaying dragons to make the day fly by!

Bartender! A round of ale on me!

Alex | 1018 comments Can I just confirm that I can use an extension gift card on quests?

I've decided I need a timewalk potion so I don't have to worry about the expiry date on the longer quests (horse, bunny, house) but for that I need to finish the timewalker quest before it expires, eep!

Yes. you can use it. You need to use it before quest expires to get another month. Don't forget to let us now you're using it and where. ☺

What years do you need? Perhaps I can help you through the Market Caravan.

Welcome Kate! Don't worry, you're in good company. Even for us slowpokes it's great fun :)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments I have a question about the poison potion, it says -2 HP per turn - so that means, if it takes three hits to kill something, that's a total of -6 hp off their total right? not just -2 hp for the whole battle...

I've considered using the caravan too Reva! I may pay it a visit after I've looked at my planning document and checked out the library catalogue :-)

message 1520: by Alex (new)

Alex | 1018 comments Looks like I'll be needing books published in 2005 and 2007 so I'll be over to the caravan when I've actually earned some gold!

message 1521: by Tia (new)

Tia (fatgirlfatbooks) There's nothing like hours and hours of travel to help with your reading! It's sometimes nice to realize you have a few hours where the only thing you can do is sit down with a book (even if traveling itself can be less than glamorous, haha).

I like that too. I'm really looking forward to when my kids are old enough that they can swim on their own and I can take them to the pool and then read.

Sorry. I read that one on my phone and meant to come back and answer.

Yes, the poison potion gives -2 hp per turn. So it's very similar to increased damage except on monsters that are affected by weapon type. (This would be the same for them since it's neither staff nor sword.)

I may be inclined in the future to make a monster weak towards poison :)

message 1526: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments I have a question. I have killed my two Big Hearts. Too bad I can't have more. :(

I was thinking about using my 2 Find Item from Big Hearts The Easter Bilby (My bunny) and Two Empty Halves of Coconuts (My horse). My question is do I get to choose what half of the quest the find item can work on or does it just fill up the first or last half of the quest?

Example:
1. Gold Cover or Gold Currency: Item Find
2. Read 3 books under 200 pages: Item Find
3. Horses or Farm:
4. 600+ pages:
5. 2 D's in Title: Item Find
6. Chic lit, cozy: Item Find
7. Red Cover or Teacher:
8. Reward:
9. Begins with H:
10. Bribe: Item Find

message 1527: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Kelly said we can't use find items potion on the horse, and I would assume the bunny as well

message 1528: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Oh drats. Not on the horse. booooo.

message 1529: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments How about build a house?

message 1530: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments I know, I tried when it first came out. We can use the potion on the 7 cats challenge though

message 1531: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments I'd even be happy if I can use it with The Sandwich is always Greener on the Other Side.

message 1532: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments this is what the rules say:

• Find Items Potion - Magically obtain half the items needed for a specific quest. (Note the use of this potion when turning in your quest. If an odd number of items is required, the potion rounds down the reward. Example: Requires 3 items, potion provides 1. Requires 4 items, potion provides 2.) Note that this cannot be used for quests that require a list of different things (e.g. do the 3 following tasks).

She said it was for items like cats, berries, or gems

message 1533: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments We're aiming for collecting similar items for the find items quest. I decided I'd make a note in the quest when it's allowed to be used. Otherwise it's incredibly powerful and it wasn't meant to be that good based on when it was given for a reward.

I'll try to have another 1 or 2 quests that can use it in the next month's batch.

message 1534: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Ahh, okay. Thanks for explaining it to me. Yeah, I was like oh awesome we can use it for these larger quests. I was denied. :(

I finished the gems and berries. I don't think I want to us it on the cats so I'll have to wait and see what comes out next month.

message 1535: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments I'll try to make some where it helps a lot to use them.

message 1536: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2568 comments Just to make sure, can we use the Find Item Potion for the Timewalker and Time For the Dead quests? They seem like the types of quests this Potion was made for.

message 1537: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Perhaps it would be best if you publish a summary list of quests and where
The find item potion IS eligible to be used.

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Zuzana wrote: "Just to make sure, can we use the Find Item Potion for the Timewalker and Time For the Dead quests? They seem like the types of quests this Potion was made for."

When I get a moment I'll go back and update the older quests with find potion eligible.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3794 comments Quick Question

For "something through which you can enter a house and 1 book where there is break in", does it have to be the main focus of the cover? Or could it be small, such as a building with lots of windows.

Ex: The English Assassin (Gabriel Allon, #2) by Daniel Silva

Something small is fine. Window, Door, giant gaping hole in a wall :) Since Tea isn't here I'll throw in Key too :P

message 1549: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments A quick question.

Do the same weekly restrictions apply when attacking the Lexicon Ness Monster? Or can both be attacked the same day without sacrificing a book for the second.

message 1550: by Zuzana (new)

Zuzana | 2568 comments Reva, I think that both can be attacked the same day without sacrificing a book.

From the rules: "Killing one won't scare off the others."
