*Orders a beer for Tea*

No need for that. We are friends. :)
Make that quest for everyone.

Dani (yogidani) | 181 comments Oh dear. Alex, mate.....I'd recommend you start running. Or at least look into getting a bigger sword.

message 206: by Alex (new)

Alex Willis (fightingokra) | 2 comments Ordering Tea a beer every few days keeps her sword out of my back.

I fear no quest, just not sure if I can read enough books to complete said quest.

message 207: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments Nah, I'd never do that.
I'm more of all bark and no bite person. :)

Hey guys! I wasn't much present lately but fear not I have been very busy slaying nasty creatures. So I'm here to rest and recuperate for a while, that last goblin was pretty persistent. Also I'm a bit tired of always eating smoked sewer rat. *goes to the bar* Cider for me please! *checks out the menu card*

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Alex is now dubbed, Sir Alex the Flirt. ;)

Ponders how to bite someone over the interweb thingy...

Alex, how did you know it's a wonderful stout?! Mmm, has great notes (coffee, hint of caramel) and a good frothy head. :)

Alex, do you remember that old Apple II (computer) game where you slide the beers. Your goal is to catch them all. LOL oh the 80s.

message 212: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments There was a computer game where you were sliding and catching beers?!

message 213: by Alex (new)

Alex Willis (fightingokra) | 2 comments Can't say that I do, I was all of 7 years old in 1990.

message 214: by Dani (new)

Dani (yogidani) | 181 comments Please tell me we can still find that game somewhere on ye olde interwebs!

message 215: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Yes, there was a bartender guy, dressed old. He'd slide them and you had to catch them. If you didn't and they broke you lost the level.

Oh the 80s, the times when Camel Joe told kids smoking was cool, Spud McKenzie was the party animal, there were candy cigarette gum that if you blew on it the candy would spray out powered sugar, and games of beer. :P

message 216: by RachelvlehcaR (last edited Jan 27, 2015 10:17AM) (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments It's called Tapper, you are the bartender.

Oregon Trail forever!

message 222: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments Yeah, Oregon Trail, Number Munchers, and Load Runner! How about Lemmings. :) I loved those Lemmings.

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments One of my all time favorites was California Games, lol. Skate boarding, surfing, hacky sacking. It was as cool as the movie Rad :P

message 224: by Dani (new)

Dani (yogidani) | 181 comments Yesssss Oregon Trail and Number Munchers were the best! And the Amazon game where you got to take pictures of all of the animals and fish.

We started January 1st.

message 227: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments It was hidden a bit in the challenges folder until recently.

Alex | 1018 comments Do books have to have a minimum number of pages to count?

message 229: by Claire (new)

Claire | 4251 comments Yes, they have to have at least 100 pages

message 230: by Maria (new)

Maria (milg) I wanna start this challenge but it seems to hard

message 231: by Alex (new)

Alex Willis (fightingokra) | 2 comments It is hard but certainly doable. Look through the rules section and slowly find the challenges you want to work on. Once you have that settled start working on fighting monsters. Kelly admittedly set this up so that your choice of character build will ultimately determine your success and how quickly you are able to defeat the dragons.

If I never defeat a dragon it is at least fun joking around with good people and going out of my way to read something I would have never touched had it not been for this challenge.

message 232: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 2825 comments Maria wrote: "I wanna start this challenge but it seems to hard"

It's not hard at all! There are a lot of pieces moving together but the actual doing of the challenge is very simple. Pick up a book you want to read. Then look at the different ways you can use it. Is it the first in a series? You can level your staff. Was it published in 2008? You can fill in that spot in the Timewalker challenge. etc etc. Just read what you would be reading anyway, things you enjoy, and fill in the little spots as you go.

Also go check out other people's threads! Look at how they set theirs up (if you feel weird about creeping on other people's stuff, feel free to look at mine, I don't mind lol). When you see it laid out in a neat and organized way it might start making a little more sense and seem easier to manage :)

message 233: by Dani (new)

Dani (yogidani) | 181 comments Maria wrote: "I wanna start this challenge but it seems to hard"

What Cait said. It definitely helped me to read over the rules a couple times and then see what others were doing. You can totally creep on my thread too. I had to read over each aspect a number of times to figure out what was going on. And like Alex said, even if I never defeat anything more than sewer rats, it's just a fun game to be a part of. Not to mention I can swing in to the tavern here for a mug of ale and some good conversation. :)

message 234: by Alex (new)

Alex Willis (fightingokra) | 2 comments I probably shouldn't have used the word hard and instead said that the game is confusing and overwhelming at first but doable.

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Maria wrote: "I wanna start this challenge but it seems to hard"

It's fun and I bet you'll find yourself reading more -- which I guess is one of the goals of this quest. Having fun too, helps!

Feel free to check out my thread. And Welcome!

message 236: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Maria wrote: "I wanna start this challenge but it seems to hard"

Don't worry. Lots of people here to answer questions if you have them :)

I'd just start in one area of the challenge then work your way out. The quests are probably the simplest to work on first since they're just like mini challenges.

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Maria wrote: "I wanna start this challenge but it seems to hard"

I was completely overwhelmed at first, but I just kept reading over the rules until they clicked and now it's so much fun and not confusing at all. Feel free to look at my thread too :)

message 238: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Boy you have some work crises and you miss a bunch of stuff! Welcome new players and is there room for one more at the bar?

message 239: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Slide on in. It's a magical expanding tavern.

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 7238 comments Emma I'm having the same issues and I keep reading the rules to make sure where everything goes but I just keep adding my books inside the reserve area until I know where I want to place them.

Yeah, I found that it just suddenly clicked and it all made sense :)

message 242: by RachelvlehcaR (new)

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) | 4364 comments I was confused at first. I had to read the rules and even then I was a little lost. Then I just looked at what other people were doing, how they set up their adventures, and asked questions. I even did some major mess ups. I was the first hero to bite the dust. I didn't realize there was a cap on HP, so I was way over on them. I did two battles which I would have won the second on if I used what I originally posted. So, I fixed it with the correct number. I died!!! The first casualty. I was like well crap. It was trial and error learning process.

Now, that I understand the rules. I'm zooming through it. I'm enjoying it a lot. Very fun idea and I'm glad Tea and Kelly did this.

Mary (wimew) | 397 comments I have a q

I got a 2 books in one from the library I only have an interest in reading the first story and no interest in the second one at all Is it okay if I just use that story? (yes it does meet the minimum page requirement)

message 244: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Aww, you guys make me so happy that you like it.

Yeah I'm fine with that as long as you're only doing pages from the book you read. You might want to note it somewhere when you do the quest in case you need to look back later.

message 246: by Mary (new)

Mary (wimew) | 397 comments ok will do Ty Kelly

message 247: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments For the healing quest, can you turn in each book as you read - so you can use the potion, or do you have to wait to have all three books (if you want all three potions) before turning in the quest?

message 248: by ❀Tea❀ (new)

❀Tea❀ (ttea) | 9624 comments Quest is finished when you read 3 books (or it expires), but you get potion after each book. You don't have to wait all three to use potion.

For example, you need potion and you've read 'blood' book. Use book, get potion, use potion, attack monster. Read next one. ☺

Hope I understood you right. :)

message 249: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Perfect! thank you!!

message 250: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments Kelly,

The gap between level 5 (45 exp.) and Level 6 (90 exp.) is huge. Are the more quests for February beyond the Valentine's Quest?
