What is Reader Recommends?
- This is a brand new monthly event!
- SIGN UP using the link in the next comment.
- Please read ALL info before signing up!
- Each month from February 2021 to December 2021 one Reader who has signed up will randomly be picked and the 5-7 books they recommend will be featured on the group.

What books will be recommended?
- A minimum of 5 books and a maximum of 7 books can be recommended.
- 2 or more of the books must be MG books, the rest can be YA, adult, or NA.
- The books can be any genre the recommending reader likes!
- 1 of the MG books will be our main focus of all the books that are recommended by the reader that month.
- The books should be written in English for everyone’s ease.
- Only books read by those signing up can be recommended, don’t recommend a book you haven’t read!
- Try not to recommend a book from the middle of a series. Stand alones and first in the series are best.
- Authors who sign up CANNOT recommend their own book(s).
- When filling in the sign up form the Reader must name the books they recommend BUT they can change what they recommend later on. There’s no stress about this, if you’re chosen by the random picker to recommend your list of books I’ll contact you well in advance so you can approve your recommendation list before I make it public to the group.
If you’re signing up it’s up to you what you recommend but I really advise that you recommend interesting books that aren’t extremely popular or super hyped. Whilst these books might be as good as the hype suggests, it’s great to find hidden gems/lesser known books in Reader’s recommendations!

*Important points to be noted*
- You must sign up for a chance to have your choice in books recommended.
- You do not have to sign up if you just want to read/see each reader’s recommendations.
- This monthly event replaces the Book of the Month event in 2021.

Feel free to ask any questions below!

@Domi sign ups are open until 1st Jan 2021 but you can sign up now with books you want to recommend now and then if the random picker picks you for one of the months I’ll get in touch with you and you can update your book recommendations if you like!

Ilsen | 516 comments Ooh I’m so excited!! I already have my two MG books to recommend. Just a friendly suggestion, can the reader give like a small blurb or something just describing the book and why they love it. I just think it will be a fun thing to include but it can be optional because sometimes the synopsis doesn’t do the story justice.

@Ilsen absolutely that’s a cool idea! If anyone wants to do that they can add it to the sign up form in the section that says to list your recommendations or if it doesn’t fit or whatever you can always privately message it to me as well. And when I announce the 11 people who will chosen and I get in touch with them all they can let me know if they want to do that for their recommendations because it’s a fun idea!

A Robin Reads (arobinreads) This sounds awesome! Will sign up, although I feel a bit of pressure... but all you guys are very friendly, so will probably be okay :)

@Robin there's absolutely no pressure! In fact, it's pretty much the opposite, this is an opportunity to show to the world what books you like regardless of whether it's what everyone else likes/knows or not! I definitely don't want to make you feel pressured into taking part or anything, it's all for fun guys and no judging from me😊

finn (frogadventures) | 105 comments This sounds super fun! I probably won’t be signing up since I can’t think of many good recommendations, but I can’t wait to see what others recommend!

@Grace I’m hoping it will be fun! If you change your mind there’ll still be loads of time to sign up😊

A Robin Reads (arobinreads) When are you going to announce the books for February? I'm really excited and can't wait! But I also plan ahead always, so would be nice to have some idea of the books :)

@Robin hmm I was planning on revealing it on February 1st because it's a February event and if I post it beforehand then everyone might have all the conversations they want to have before February even starts😂 I like to space out events so that the group is always having some kind of active conversation if that makes sense. But that's a good point that people might want time to prepare and get a copy of some of the books. Alright how about a week before the end of the month? On the 25th. That's usually around the time that I send out a message about next month's events anyway. Does that work well for you?

A Robin Reads (arobinreads) @Kadi That would be great thanks! I can plan my TBR video better then and get the books from my library on time hopefully

A Robin Reads (arobinreads) When are we getting the ones for March? I would like to get them earlier, because I need to prep for my youtube channel.
If it can me managed tomorrow but no pressure of course

message 18: by Ilsen (new)

@Robin taking into account what you’d said last month I was planning to release Spencer’s recommendations tomorrow! It’s very clearly my tomorrow (time differences) so I’ll be posting them super soon like a few hours👏🏻

@Ilsen so do I and even though I’ve already seen his recommendations I haven’t planned which I’m going to read yet so it’ll be good to do that after I post his recs soon!
