I read this story today, where the author talks about decolonising your bookshelf. Reading books from places and cultures that aren't mainstream.

A thoughtful read, and a point well worth making. Looking at the cosmos through other eyes allows in more illumination.

This might seem arbitrary pointless and pseudoscientific but I do arrange my bookshelf totally randomly - nonfiction, autobiographies, fantasy fiction, with all manner of authors from all over the world... I just feel that the chaos automatically triggers my creative instincts when I look at it as opposed to the more rigid, predictable, organized bookshelf.

Or maybe I am just lazy!

That's the stuff!

Do you ever imagine the authors striking up a conversation with those shelved right beside them, like guests at a dinner party?
