pandapretzel | 3 comments This might be an unpopular opinion but Lisa Jewell.. I've read Then She Was Gone, None of this is True, and The Family Upstairs and haven't rated any of them above a 3/5. I feel like she's a bit overhyped and I'm never really shocked by any of her twists. I probably won't read another one of her books.

Paula Brandon | 3 comments Jane Harper. Her last two - "The Survivors" and "Exiles" - were so boring and plotless that any goodwill left over from "The Dry" has completely evaporated.

Alice Feeney. "Good Bad Girl" was so stupid, pointless and insulting that even though I enjoyed "His And Hers", I won't be giving her another go. Give me a thriller, not 101 contrived life observations.

I'm in two minds about Ruth Ware. I absolutely hated "The It Girl" but have enjoyed others.

Agnes (silkchapters) | 7 comments I use to be a big Danielle Steele reader but havent pick up any of her books in the last 50 years. Just felt her books were getting very repetitive. I like authors that change it up each book.

T.D. Severin | 7 comments I hate to say it, but James Patterson. Ever since he started farming out the actual writing, and just became a brand behind several ghost writers, the quality has been nearly unreadable.

T.D. Severin | 7 comments One more, and this one surprises even me. As a medical thriller author, I have full respect for Robin Cook. His book, "Coma" truly started the entire genre. But his last several books (by several I mean over last 10-20 years) have been simply bad. I tried Marker and it was a slog to get through and no pay off at the end.

Agreed T,D

James Patterson comes out with lots of books every years, but other authors write the books, he does marginally work towards but makes loads of money

Agreed! I thought Verity was one of the worst books I’ve ever read.
