Sorry, our rules clearly state authors and publishes may NOT nominate their own books.

The prequel to Dracula, inspired by notes and texts left behind by the author of the classic novel, Dracul is a supernatural thriller that reveals not only Dracula's true origins but Bram Stoker's--and the tale of the enigmatic woman who connects them.
It is 1868, and a twenty-one-year-old Bram Stoker waits in a desolate tower to face an indescribable evil. Armed only with crucifixes, holy water, and a rifle, he prays to survive a single night, the longest of his life. Desperate to record what he has witnessed, Bram scribbles down the events that led him here...
A sickly child, Bram spent his early days bedridden in his parents' Dublin home, tended to by his caretaker, a young woman named Ellen Crone. When a string of strange deaths occur in a nearby town, Bram and his sister Matilda detect a pattern of bizarre behavior by Ellen--a mystery that deepens chillingly until Ellen vanishes suddenly from their lives. Years later, Matilda returns from studying in Paris to tell Bram the news that she has seen Ellen--and that the nightmare they've thought long ended is only beginning.
Dracul was a previous Group Read last year, so it will not be eligible. Feel free to nominate something else.

What is "New" you say? It's almost a New Year and a New Decade. January's theme will be NEW HORROR. In honor of all this New-ness, we're looking to discover NEW authors and books. Therefore, all nominees must meet the following criteria:
- No authors who have published before the last decade (before 2011).
- Only books published in the past five (5) years (2016 or later).
This is the opportunity to group read that recent horror book/author you've heard all about but haven't yet tried. Because of this, the nominations and voting will take place a little early in case you need to add something to your holiday wish list.
- While you may nominate any horror book that meets the criteria, remember: the more books nominated, the less chance the one you REALLY want to read will win, so it's suggested not to nominate more than 3 books.
- Books with the most nominations, seconds, thirds, etc., have a better chance of making the final poll.
- As always, AUTHORS and PUBLISHERS may NOT nominate their own works.
- Previous Group Reads and Buddy Reads will NOT be eligible.
Lists of these reads can be found here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
**Nominations will be open until 12/8/20**
