This category is for books with characters on the run: running from the law, from their past, from problems, from home, in a marathon or Olympic event, etc. What are you planning on reading?

Again changed my mind, and even though twist was a little obvious, it was a good read.

Just finished reading: "Escape from the Land of Snows: The Young Dalai Lama's Harrowing Flight to Freedom and the Making of a Spiritual Hero" written by Stephan Talty (★★★★☆), it is a biography of Tenzin Gyatso, the fourteenth Dalai Lama, and his amazing escape from Tibet to India against the forces of China.

Talty has collected eye-witness accounts from the Dalai Lama's mother and brothers, rebels and refugees, members of the CIA's Tibetan Task Force, and former prisoners of the Chinese and cumulate them in a wonderful account that describes the Dalai Lama’s escape in 1959, which irrevocably altered the future of Tibet.

Traci (scraptraci) | 151 comments I used a more figurative "on the run". As the MC was avoiding things at home when she decided to do an art grant at the South Pole. Interesting read with various themes entwined in the story
