Salma19 (And I Darken stan) | 155 comments Hi guys! 2020 is a few weeks away from its end. What are your reading plans for 2021? :-)

message 2: by eli ♡ (new)

eli ♡ | 469 comments I plan on reading about 90 -100 books, but I have to actually make time to read those books. So it will be hard to accomplish.

message 3: by human (new)

human (that0nefangirl) | 1051 comments I have a list of classics that I'm planning on reading in March :)

message 4: by LyraFirefly (new)

LyraFirefly I think I'll do 100 again this year because I won't have as much time next year and I'm a bit ahead this year.

message 5: by nanna (new)

nanna | 13 comments hiiii. i plan on reading maybe 50 books this year. idk. i read few books but i enjoy them thoroughly.

Salma19 (And I Darken stan) | 155 comments I’m thinking of rereading my favorite series. I have not done so yet!

I'm going to set my goal to 100 books. So far, I've read 133, so that goal should be manageable. And my other goal is to review every single book I read in that year.

message 10: by Booktastically (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 1477 comments I have read about 130 books this year (humble brag is present, could not help it. Forgive me) Some of them have been next level TRASH. So this is my goal and plan... Future Dragoness (me to myself, or is it myself to me?) choose better. Please. Just choose better. And like, re-read Silverlegs for the 69th time. It's a problem. I know. Oh! And harass the government to build me a bookstore near me or here's an idea, in the same country. Gently. Harass them, gently.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I plan on reading 80, maybe 90 books.

message 12: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments I have read around 122 books this year so I think my goal next year is going to be 100 or 115 (If I am feeling brave it will be 150).

message 13: by Graciella02 (new)

Graciella02 (grace02) | 36 comments I haven’t really decided yet. Maybe 200 but I like to reread books more than I like trying new books.

message 14: by katie ❀ (new)

katie ❀ (whisperngpages) i want to read maybe 100-150??

message 15: by A (new)

A C | 60 comments I've read 263 books this year (so far, there will be more I'm sure), so I think my goal for 2021 is going to be 250-270

message 16: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauralikeslit7) | 93 comments As many as I can over late may and summer break because I know I’ll start slacking in the fall when school resumes

Oh my gosh, are you serious?! 250+ books? Girl, my respects go out to you. Also, my jealousy. But like, a tiny bit. A miniscule bit. *snort*

message 18: by Era ➴ (new)

Era ➴ (readeroflibraries) | 226 comments I was going to read 150 this year but I was only at like 124 before the account got deleted, so I'm aiming to still get those 26 books before January 1.
Next year hopefully will be like 180.

message 19: by A (new)

A C | 60 comments @Booktastically Amazing yeah, lol. thanks!

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 1477 comments @A Oh geez Louis on a bucket, what's your secret? Apart from, you know, sacrificing pages.

message 21: by A (new)

A C | 60 comments I'm just naturally a very fast reader, I guess. and I don't get reading slumps?? so there's that lmao. Idk

message 22: by human (new)

human (that0nefangirl) | 1051 comments My goal this year was 200, and I was able to complete it, and I want to try for 250 next year, but I feel like part of the reason I was able to read so much was because of lockdown, lol. Does anyone else feel that way?

message 23: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth I've read 70 books so far, but I think that's only due to quarantine. 😂 I doubt I'll be able to read as many next year, I'll probably aim for 60 or so.

message 24: by Ayla (new)

Ayla (storiesandfolklore) | 451 comments Mod
I think I'll try for 200 next year, but I'll set my goal for maybe 100-150 because I it to be manageable with how many other things I already have to do.

message 25: by Booktastically (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 1477 comments Ugh, I HOPE next year I can reach about 160 books. But you know, a pesky little thing that we all need (and no, it is not me) AKA life, will get in the way. My brain capacity is already close to maximum capacity, we'll see if Fictional men can erase my day's wrongdoing. (answer: Of course they will!)

message 26: by Booktastically (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 1477 comments Oh! And I meant to ask, @Ayla how long does it take for you to finish a book? Same question for @A? (I am a very curious being, forgive me *snickering*)

message 27: by A (new)

A C | 60 comments haha it usually takes me a day or two for your average 300-500 page YA. One Shakespeare play usually takes me about a week to get through, with similar reading times for other classics. It really depends on the book, though. some YA I fly through at the rate I described above, others take far longer. but on average, about three days for a thicker YA, and a week or so for a classic novel

message 28: by Booktastically (last edited Dec 09, 2020 05:46PM) (new)

Booktastically Amazing (booktasticallyamazing) | 1477 comments Then I must be doing something terribly wrong then *snort* Since I read them at the same rate *smacking head* Intelligent human, tis I.

P.S: I'll stop harassing your reading schedule about now. Oh, goodness. I just snorted. At myself.

Booktastically wrote: "Oh! And I meant to ask, @Ayla how long does it take for you to finish a book? Same question for @A? (I am a very curious being, forgive me *snickering*)"

On average, about 2 days for a 300-500 page YA book. Longer, anywhere up to a week! Same as both of you :)

message 30: by A (new)

A C | 60 comments you aren't necessarily doing anything wrong! I just tend to fly through books at a weirdly fast pace, tbh

message 31: by the bard (new)

the bard (ken97) | 836 comments y'all are insane (in a good way)!!! i thought this year's reading was good and i read like 60 books smh. i don't know how you guys have the time, that's crazy. awesome, but crazy.

As long as you're reading and enjoying books, any number of books is a good goal!

message 33: by A (new)

A C | 60 comments Sometimes I wish I read slower, tbh. It would be easier to enjoy books that way, I think, because I fly through them so fast that it's harder to really soak in a good book and enjoy it, because it only takes me two days to finish it

message 34: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments I took my time with A Sky Beyond The Storm because I wanted to enjoy it as much as possible but I usually read 500 page books in 2-3 days.

message 35: by Eva (new)

Eva B. I think I'll probably set mine to 115 or so. I'd rather lowball it than set it too high.
I have a list of 20 books that I want to read before I'm 20, and I'm hoping to knock out a few of them in 2021. I also want to read a lot of the unread books that I own, reread some books that I don't remember much of, catch up on some Star Wars comics/books, and maybe finish War and Peace.

message 36: by the bard (new)

the bard (ken97) | 836 comments i'm a total mood reader, so i can't plan what i'm reading at all, but it's cool that you guys can do that

Same. I have a vague idea of books I want to read but I can't make a TBR for the life of me.

Me too. I rarely read books of a series in consecutive order and have around fifteen (series) I need to finish.

message 46: by Eleanor (new)

Eleanor Jones | 9 comments I just had this huge realization that after this school year is over I will no longer have access to my schools library. Because barely anyone at my school reads that means I can usually read whatever I want whenever I feel like it. However next year I will be needing to start and finish the following series.
--Arc of a Scythe series
--The Chaos walking trilogy
--Steelheart trilogy
--Ash princess trilogy
-- and various other ya books

I'm usually more of a mood reader but I guess this year calls for something else. Beyond that all I really have planned is more Sanderson, more adult, and I will finally be reading my last SJM book.

message 47: by ATheReader (new)

ATheReader (athereaderofbooks) | 2746 comments I have SO many that I want to read. So just put my entire TBR list here lol

Salma19 (And I Darken stan) | 155 comments I want to start Ilona Andrews’s books (Urban Fantasy)! They sound like a lot of fun.

message 49: by human (new)

human (that0nefangirl) | 1051 comments I've seen them around Goodreads a lot, and people with who I have similar tastes seem to really like them.

Salma19 (And I Darken stan) | 155 comments Yeah! And I heard that the plot in their books is strong and has great romance. Plus, they’re short! 😀
