i avoid listening to any book by her.... she just sounds like shes turned on all the time... all throaty and just weirs... and she narrates alot of books i like so that sucks!

Hahaha I hear you Laura about Justine Eyre. She definitely has a style you have to get used to. She's not my favorite but I can listen to her. In my "hell no" category is Anne Flosnik. I don't know how she's still narrating books!! For some reason historical romance has a lot of really bad narrators that are super popular. (Now that I think about it, I should create a "bad narration" shelf.)

Two really good narrators for historical romance that I really like are Derek Perkins and Tim Campbell.

Teddy Hamilton is a favorite of mine too - and Iggy Toma is also great. I'm not familiar with all the names you've both mentioned, but I'll be sure to look them up!

Joel Lesley has been a favorite, but now I'm finding him more hit and miss. I'm listening to the Shamwell Tales (Caught!) series right now, and Mark Steadman is good, but his female voices are annoying.

I do love the Shamwell stories, but I read them. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to much on Audible with 5 other people in the house. Too many distractions!

Teddy and Jacob Morgan are so dreamy in the "Him" series by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. Sighhh!!!

You can only turn on notifications using the desktop version. The app unfortunately doesn’t let you do it

Hey Team, I’m excited for the call tonight! Does anyone new to the challenge have any questions or clarifications about anything before we begin?

Do we want to try for the speed dating rose? I can start reading right when the task is called, can 3 more people? I know time zones play a big role here.

I don’t think I’ll be able to this week because I work until 7 EST so I can’t start reading until a couple of hours after the call. I can try for it every other week though!

I have a Zoom call booked for 6:00 with some friends, so I won't be able to start reading right away this week either. Sorry. I guess I better get my first book loaded on my Kindle though.

I'm super tired today and I probably should work a bit on my interviewing (second round on Tuesday).

I started my second book and so far is just 'meh'. I have a third one where it fits 3 out of the 4 criteria for SH and could fit the 4th but the tags are giving me issues so can't check. Sigh...I'll probably start it because it fits another challenge I'm doing...

No worries! I was so lost at the beginning of my first challenge trying to navigate all of this. You have to use the desktop version and then you just click on “add book/author” and make sure you select the first kindle edition. The app kinda sucks for all of this stuff. It’s very limited

Good morning! Doing great ladies! 5 out of us have at least completed one book.

I just realized one of my FAVORITE books should work for the SH but I can't find proof of the rural setting! I've read this book many times and I know for a fact that part of the book is set in the mountains. It's not the biggest part of the book but I'm sure somebody must have tagged it there. I may re-read it anyway because I love it so!!

Can you double check the number of pages? Kat is very particular about using the right number of pages:
