Where is it close to Jazzy? I wasn't sure if it was a fictional or real place 😊

Hi Trish, Whitley Bay is very near Newcastle upon Tyne - just on the coast, and both are in Tyne and Wear, in the northeast of England. I moved to Newcastle city centre.

I'm thinking of having a go at this - has anyone managed to make a list with just Aussie locations and Aussie Authors - I'm thinking I might try at this but would welcome ideas from others.

Thanks - the one's I looked at were a mix of Oz and other places and authors - I'll dig a bit deeper.

This one is a mix Graham. Did you look at the Read Around Australia challenge? That one iis Aussie authors only.

It sounds like a great spot, especially in the warmer weather.

Thanks Brenda, the Read Around Australia Challenge is the one for me - 12 books sounds manageable and I always like to dip into new Aussie authors (nothing against the international ones but my Aussie author friends need all the help they can get!!)

This morning I had a bit of an epiphany, I thought, why not combine this challenge with my personal 2021 sci-fi challenge? It will encourage me to seek out Aussie sci-fi writers (we have some great ones, but many of them are not all that well known) and will result in some really interesting locations.

It may also help reduce my travel bug, which, at the moment, is growing into it's own little Deborah shaped pandemic.

Anyhow, I know it is a bit out of left field, pretty sure it is not what our lovely moderators had in mind and it will result in some places which are not 'real' but it is my new plan. :)

It's your challenge Deborah - as long as the books fit the criteria marked at in the original post, you can read whatever you like. And lots of new AAs will also help us as well :) Go for it!!
