Since I diversified my reading, I'll going with any books on the TBR shelves/piles/carts!

I changed mine to 100! I want to get more old ones off my tbr- all genres!

I signed up for 15 books, but I really need to do better than that this year. I am an empty nester and we downsized the house. I lost my built in book shelves and now my books are scattered everywhere around the house! My shelf is called Mt TBR Challenge 2021

Im going to read book I bought on my Nook and have not read. Just for the record my Nook died in 2015 (?) So all these books have been TBR for at least 5 years! I have a problem! 😜

Are we supposed to keep track of our books here or somewhere else?

I bought several kindle books on sale and I have several physical books I’m going to buy soon!! Can’t do anything with us 😉🤓 Oh, and I bought 6 used books on thrift books and 4 bagfuls at me used bookstore! Don’t judge me 🤣😂. I’ll hit up my Amazon wishlist soon 😉

I've been going a little crazy with the book buying lately too. Between Barnes and Noble, and Amazon I've picked up about 2 dozen physical books and another 2 dozen kindle books in the last month and a half. I've also unloaded about 70 Hardcovers and Trade paperbacks at BookOff at picked up about 5 more Hardcovers there. I've got to slow down (maybe not).

I do the same!! Trade in a bunch of stuff and turn around and buy a bunch more 😂🤣. So much for downsizing!! I want to make to make room for other things but...... I have a bunch of physical books on my Amazon wishlist I want but can’t afford right now 😫. And I bought a couple from B&N when my mom found an old gift card she had from there and let me have it!

I recently found a couple of Amazon gift cards while cleaning out my desk in my home office and some Barnes and Noble ones too.

I buy more books every day, I get links to free or nearly free books from 4 different places every day, that's not counting the free ones I get from HA, and the 40+ books I won on Goodreads in the last year. Talk about overloading my want to read list.... LoL

I forgot I had them, there were some restaurant gc's also. They came from a bad Thanksgiving / Xmas holiday 3 years ago they got put away along with all the estate papers and trust paperwork etc. that I've been ignoring till now (that's probably oversharing, but I'm open. Question Fellow 2021 Mount TBR Challengers: I have read two books towards my challenge thus far.

The first I added to my '2021 Mount TBR' shelf and it automatically updated my progress for the challenge.

I finished the second one yesterday, put it in the same shelf, but it didn't update as far as the challenge section is concerned. What am I doing wrong?

Meg, I’ve had some trouble at times with the same thing on some of my challenges. I have to go back under update and retype the shelf name. I think it’s a GR glitch!! I need to check my latest adds now that you mentioned it 😳

I will try that! Thank you, Melissa. I wasn't sure if it had something to do with the year. The first one I finished in December 2020, and then the one yesterday didn't work. I am going to try retyping the shelf name now. I appreciate your help!

Got my 2nd 'meh' for the year already and I'm DNF'ing it, but not sure if I should still add it to my challenge....I did try to finish it but it was just irritating me too much. What does everyone else do??

I’ve only dnf’d a book a few times. I usually just go straight to the end if I’m not enjoying, rate and dnf it. I count all if I waste any of my time. So you do you 😉

I don't add my DNF's. I do add ones I didnt care for, but still finished, although I sometimes feel embarrassed to claim them.

It’s what you want to do Melanie. Everyone does it differently and there is no right way 😃🤷🏻‍♀️

I add my DNFs. I feel like I still gave it a shot. So when I do a DNF, I still say read and do a review on why I didn't like it. And yes, I try not to be a complete ass about why I didn't like it. Someone still took the time out to write the book. *shrugs*

Here's the thing, I'll likely not get back to it. There's too many books out there and I'm not getting any younger. ;) hahaha!

Yes, I'm going to include it. I'm DNF"ing at 46% so I think that's giving it a fair go.

Onto the next one :-)
