The good news in the last week I have received 40-50 requests from authors to do Q & A.

The bad news, we cannot do all of these at the same time, and we also have to fit in any top requests when they do come in.

I am happy to help authors, who join the group, to be part of it, and I often reply if you take part in the threads members get to know you and want to read your books.

Others want to do a Q & A but DO NOT want to take part in All/some of the threads.

I find it is a fine line with keeping members happy and also bombarding them with too much !

Recently every time we send a message to all members re -information we lose 5-10 members, and all we are doing are keeping members up to date, hard to keep everyone happy.

I know we have had authors join ask to do a Q & A, add in Promote My book, then not post again!

I think most of the time we do get it right, but Janet and Autumn and myself are trying to get the balance right.

I hope so much for Martin's book. I'm going to read it for sure but it would be so much more fun to discuss it in a bigger group.

Well said, Janet. I am a traditionally published author, but because my first novel was only published a year ago, I also struggle to attract an audience. Even authors published by big houses are expected to do a great deal of book promoting.

Thanks for saying, DB. Hard for a lot of authors out there today regardless of how the book comes to market.
