Donna (drspoon) | 3 comments Good list! W & P is up for me this year, too.

Renee | 727 comments Just finished my first book for the challenge, Agnes Grey. It was also my first Anne Bronte book, and I loved it. It was short, but packed with feeling for the characters. I love the way it was written in a diary form with Anne telling us her story.

Kathleen | 5460 comments Glad to hear you enjoyed this one, Renee! Starting with a five-star is a good omen. :-)

message 10: by Renee (new)

Renee | 727 comments I've had it on my challenge list for a few years, and finally got around to reading The Handmaid's Tale. I loved the way it was presented with Offred telling her story. Scary situation Offred was in, and I liked her flashbacks to the before time.

Sue K H (sky_bluez) | 3694 comments Congratulations on another one down Renee! You sure are bold putting War & Peace on the Old and New challenge! Thank goodness for alternates just in case. I'm planning on reading that next year after loving Anna Karenina this year.

I had it on my challenge last year, but I was in quite a slump and never got around to it. I really want to read it this year, so I can get to some of the other Russian classics I haven't read yet, Anna Karenina being one of them.
