In March, we will finish the Morgan Dane series by Melinda Leigh, which we’ve all enjoyed to date. Lucy Kincaid will continue into 2022 since we’ve included the Max Revere books. We’ve decisions to make regarding our next series group read(s).

Traditionally we’ve read three series at a time but with the collapse of our fantasy group read, we are down to two. I’d like your opinion on whether to stay at two series or add a third.

Lastly, rather than separate by genre, I recommend that we mix the nominations and go with the will of the group. That would mean we’d have one topic for nominations and two (or three) polls set up for you to select your two (or three) choices.

Your thoughts?
1. Two series or three?
2. Eliminate nominations by genre and include all in one?
3. Other suggestions?

I'm good with having three series.
Perhaps we should have 2 by genre and 1 free for all :)

Thanks for weighing in, Lauren.

Melissa (melissasd) | 1610 comments I like the idea of 2 series. I'm trying to read more books off my TBR list and 3 series would be too much for me to read in 1 month. Also, 1 by genre, 1 free for all.

Robin (robinmy) | 3478 comments Two series works for me. I have some other series group reads in other groups and I don't want to be overwhelmed.

I'm good with eliminating the genre and going with whatever the group votes for.

Thanks, ladies!

Anita (anitanodiva) | 4014 comments I would like to see the following changes:

1. Two series max.
2. Eliminate the genre, include all as one.

Christina T (crysteena73) | 558 comments I like the idea of 3 series but know I'd be lucky to participate in 2 so I'm saying 2 for this group. For now I like the idea of genre-fluid nominations. We're a non-genre group so it makes sense to have the options of romance, mysteries, YA, fantasy, whatever to vote on.

Thanks, Anita & Christina!

I’m inclined to lean toward two since one of my goals is to mix in more standalones. And, I’m leading two other series reads in other groups. If that’s okay, let’s plan for two...for now. We can always add later.

With there only being two series, it seems that maybe genre segmentation isn’t needed. However, we seem to like reading mysteries so maybe we could do one thread for recommendations in that genre and another for everything else?

That okay with everyone?

I’ll wait until the am before I open the nominations to give Lauren, Melissa & Anita time to respond (as well as any one else!).

Viki (vikir) | 814 comments Even though I don’t participated in the monthly group reads at the same time, I always curious what books you guys end up reading.

message 15: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 4014 comments I didn't realize I needed to respond. Only having two series is fine by me and leaving the genre one mystery and one non-specific is great too.

I thought it only right since I asked for opinions and the resolution was a little different. Thank you for weighing in.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments I'm open to choices: sometimes a standalone would be appealing.
I might discover an author whose other works I'd like to consider on my own.

Sorry I didn't respond. It's hectic around here.

I'm good with 2 non-genre related series. I'm also ok with stand alone.
