Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments It's such a pleasure to listen to Rupert Degas reading another installment of my favourite historical fiction series, Sulari Gentill's Rowland Sinclair books. All the Tears in China is another 5★ read and listen.

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 2304 comments Endure: Mind, Body and the Curiously Elastic Limits of Human Performance by Alex Hutchinson was quite fascinating for me, even if it did take me over a month to get through it! It's very motivational so I imagine I'll keep going back to it.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Peter May's Enzo Macleod Investigation series has been on my TBR for a while, so I grabbed #7 from NetGalley, but anyone who knows me well, understands I am compelled to start with #1, Extraordinary People.
4★s and I'll definitely be continuing with the series

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments With audio books, the narrator is critical to the listener's enjoyment. I can vouch for Blazey Best's excellent reading of the second book in Sarah Thornton's Clementine Jones series, White Throat.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments A mortician who loves the Beatles and a naive, sheltered ten-year-old... where is this story going? Morgan Marquette's debut novel, Morgan and Katrina has quite a twist in the middle.

Lucy Newlinds (lucy_newlinds) | 10 comments My 4 star review of Who Rules the World? by Noam Chomsky.

Highly recommend for anyone wanting to challenge their outlook on on the current state of global politics and foreign affairs.

Who Rules the World? Who Rules the World? by Noam Chomsky

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Who Rules the World? by Noam Chomsky is a comprehensive indictment of the logic that governs the political class and economic elite of the West.

The slow and methodical unpacking of the hypocrisy at the heart of the 'War on Terror' and the objectives of Western foreign policy for the past 50 years was done with such clarity, confidence and humour. It was a joy to read.

I would highly recommended this book for anyone wanting to challenge their current world view or add a voice with a different opinion to their media intake.
