Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments I'm not sure quite how Graham Brack does it, but he had me laughing out loud while learning all about 17th Century Netherlands. The Vanishing Children is another hugely entertaining read: still available for pre-order before 20th April.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments I do enjoy B. Michael Radburn's Taylor Bridges series, with its hint of paranormal, so having them read to me by Ric Herbert is a treat. The Falls gets 4.5★s

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Kathy Reichs sets her 20th Temperance Brennan book in October 2021, and depicts this as post-pandemic. It will be interesting to see how her optimism pans out. A fascinating read, as always.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I just enjoyed the thought-provoking second book of the Monkeewrench mystery series, Live Bait by mother-daughter duo P.J. Tracy. As if the concentration camp hadn't been bad enough, a Holocaust survivor is murdered. I'm glad there are more of these to look forward to!

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Butterfly Blink: A Book Without Words is another colourful conversation-starter for children by Karl Beckstrand. As the title suggests, no words are necessary - except for the person answering the inevitable questions!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Any reader who enjoys excellent Australian historical should grab a copy of The Woolgrower’s Companion by Joy Rhoades, and the sequel, The Burnt Country. I was pleased to see both are available in audio and Edwina Wren is an inspired choice as narrator.
