Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Aussie author, Kelly Rimmer has a talent for tugging at the heart-strings, and her sixth novel, The Warsaw Orphan (out 28th April) is a moving read. I didn't connect with the characters quite the way I have in her previous books so 4★s

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Although I'm a little puzzled by some of the accents, I do approve of Jennifer Vuletic's reading of the latest instalment of Kerry Greenwood's Corinna Chapman series, The Spotted Dog: 7.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments In British author Peter May's second Enzo Macleod book, The Critic, Enzo gets up close and personal with a lot of good wine. I'm working my way towards #7 in this series...

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Aussie B Michael Radburn is a reliable, go-to author for thrilling mysteries. The Reach is the third featuring Park Ranger Taylor Bridges in a beautiful (though terrifying!) Australian bush setting.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Open Water, a novella by British-Ghanaian author Caleb Azumah Nelson, is a poetic, complicated, lyrical love story, some of which I loved.

Carolyn | 9840 comments The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth The Good Sister is the first book I have read by Sally Hepworth but I'll be adding more of hers to my tbr. An excellent domestic suspense novel with delightful (and not so delightful) characters.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments If you find yourself in need of a funny, feel-good read, then treat yourself to Richard Glover's latest book, Love, Clancy: A Dog's Letters Home. The audio, read by Richard, is especially good!
(Note: This book is laugh-out-loud funny so the standard warning about reading in the Quiet Carriage on public transport, reading while eating/drinking, and continence issues applies here.)

Carolyn | 9840 comments Before My Actual Heart Breaks by Tish Delaney Before My Actual Heart Breaks by Tish Delaney is a character driven novel, set in Ireland during the Troubles, telling the tale of a pregnant teenager forced into a strangely loveless marriage. A beautiful written debut.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Booker-winning, Tasmanian Richard Flanagan has written a remarkable parable for our times. During Australia's Black Summer of bushfires, three adult children play tug-of-war over their dying mother, while her mind is often floating in The Living Sea of Waking Dreams. Suspension of disbelief is required, as the daughter's finger disappears and almost nobody notices.
