Carolyn | 9840 comments I really like Gregg Olsen's Nicole Foster and Megan Carpenter thriller series, but his new novel not so much.

Andy (andymc) Is the June read Rachel Johns (from website) or Nicola Marsh (email)? Or am I getting my groups mixed?
😁

Both of them Andy. Check the top of the group's main page - we always have two for Aussie Readers and one for the Crime group.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Two Steps Onward, the follow up to Two Steps Forward by husband and wife author team Graeme Simsion and Anne Buist is both a thought-provoking and heart-warming read. Surprises and wise words. I would love to check out the pilgrim hostel this pair designs...

Carolyn | 9840 comments My review for One Child Alive (Rockwell and Decker, #03) by Ellery A. Kane One Child Alive by Ellery A. Kane, #3 in a series featuring a prison psychologist and a detective, that's really starting to shape up well now the characters are well established.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Casey Withoos does a brilliant job of narrating Rachael Johns latest novel, How to Mend a Broken Heart. Her rendition of those Louisiana accents is excellent, enough to make this reader swoon.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments A while back I read a review praising the audio version of Ann Patchett's The Dutch House, read by actor Tom Hanks. I suggested Wollongong City Libraries order in a copy, which they did, and I have now had the unalloyed pleasure of listening to this wonderful story read by a narrator perfectly suited. Highly recommended!!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments German best-selling author, Romy Hausmann's fourth novel, Sleepless is unquestionably a page-turner: readers may wish to pre-book a chiropractic appointment, though...

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments All Mick Herron's books are entertaining, but narrated by the gravel-voiced Seán Barrett, an absolute pleasure to listen to. Real Tigers is best not listened to in the Quiet Carriage on public transport: Herron's dry English humour provides many laugh-out-loud moments.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Aussie/NZ author Jacqueline Bublitz has penned an accomplished debut novel in Before You Knew My Name. The dead narrator might remind you of The Lovely Bones, but the story is very different, topical and thought-provoking. Definitely a 5★ read.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments I just finished The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

I give it a four star, because I really enjoyed it, as I tend to with this authors writing. While it won the Guardian's Children's Fiction Prize, this creative sci-fi Lite story is not one I found terribly childish. It has some strong questions about humanity and self, and perhaps a bit too much (non-graphic) violence for some people's choice for children's reading.
