Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I didn't realise that Maggie O'Farrell had written a childrens book until I was browsing my library's catalogue. Where Snow Angels Go proves she has more than one string to her bow! A delightful read.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Odd Bird is the debut novel from British author, Lee Farnsworth and might well appeal to fans of Graeme Simsion and Joanna Nell, as the protagonist is clearly related to both Don Tillman (The Rosie Project) and Hattie Bloom (The Great Escape from Woodlands Nursing Home). A very entertaining read.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments For those who think that Stephenie Meyer is all vampires and paranormal, I offer my review of The Chemist, which I'd read back in 2016, but Ellen Archer's excellent narration reminded me how good it is: clever and funny and not a vampire in sight!

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Sulari Gentill's exceptional Rowland Sinclair historical mystery series takes her four Australian characters to 1930's Shanghai in Shanghai Secrets. What a terrifying place it was - but a great read!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Since I have discovered Catherine Ryan Hyde's writing, I haven't been disappointed by anything of hers that I have read, and Seven Perfect Things is no exception. A truly heart-warming read.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I enjoyed another dose of my favourite Kerry Greenwood series, Devil's Food, being read to me by Louise Siverson. My only complaint is that her rendition of Daniel’s voice does not come close to the one in my head.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments How could I not love The Kalahari Typing School for Men, the 4th book in the series of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith? These are always enjoyable and a gentle reminder that life in rural Botswana is a far cry from that of most readers.
