Em__Jay | 500 comments I went down the middle with a 2.5 star rating for Stone Sky Gold Mountain by Mirandi Riwoe.

The subject matter is really interesting but I just couldn't get into it. It took me weeks to finish.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Miss Kopp Investigates by Amy Stewart is seventh in the entertaining Kopp Sisters historical mystery series about real people in New Jersey, USA. It's the early 1900s, just after WWI - such different times.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Invisible Boys by Aussie author Holden Sheppard is fiction, but he knows what it was to feel despair growing up as an invisibile (gay) boy in a country town. Oh, how I feel for all those kids out there whose lives we make so miserable.
Invisible Boys by Holden Sheppard 4.5★ Link to my review of Invisible Boys

Brooke - One Woman's Brief Book Reviews (onewomansbbr) | 753 comments 4.5 stars for this fantastic historical fiction.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Many times during Gloria in Extremis, I could envisage the protagonist's monologue being done as stand-up by British comedienne, Sarah Millican: dry, deadpan and hilariously funny. Lynne O’Sullivan's debut novel is very entertaining and ultimately uplifting.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments We all know dogs are smart, but teaching them to talk? American speech therapist, Christina Hunger demonstrates how it can be done. How Stella Learned to Talk: The Groundbreaking Story of the World's First Talking Dog is a fascinating read!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Whoever selected Margot Knight to narrate Liz Byrski's latest novel, At the End of the Day, made an inspired choice: she does a stellar job on this heart-warming and uplifting read.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments When I picked up Serpent Loop by Lynn Lipinski from NetGalley, I didn't realise it was a sequel, but there was enough recap for it to stand alone. Of course, there were spoilers for the first book, so best read in order. Enjoyable crime fiction.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments It's always a joy to listen to Adjoa Andoh narrating the books from the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, and The Joy and Light Bus Company is no exception. Alexander McCall Smith never fails to delight.

Andrea | 2164 comments I found the focus on poaching in the initial stages of Songbirds set a distressing tone for what turned out to be an interesting but very sombre story.
