Lucy Newlinds (lucy_newlinds) | 10 comments My review of It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey. My first ever romance read in a bid to break up my reading of War and Peace! Hope you enjoy. Let me know if you have any romance recommendations.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments It's so unfortunate when the back-cover blurb lets the book down. A Little Bird by Aussie author, Wendy James is impressive Australian rural crime fiction, but the blurb creates expectations which are only met well past the 80% mark, if at all.
4.5★s

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Since I have the seventh book in Peter May's Enzo Macleod series from NetGalley, I have been working my way through the series and am finally at #6 Cast Iron which does feel a lot like the final, all issues tied neatly in a bow, but apparently there's more...
4.5★s for this enjoyable crime fiction.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Olivia Vinall's narration of the latest stand-alone by writing duo, Nicci French, The Unheard is excellent. These authors never disappoint.

Andrea | 2164 comments I've been listening to The Understudy, the second book by David Nicholls. It was good, but generally I'd say his stories have improved throughout his career (not the writing, which has always been excellent).

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Small Things Like These is a novella by Irish author, Claire Keegan that can easily be read in one sitting, and is a moving and uplifting story in a Christmas setting.
Definitely 5★s for this one!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments Despite a few dubious pronunciations, Nell Campbell's is the perfect voice for the audio version of Australian author Jacquie Byron's impressive debut novel, Happy Hour. Funny, moving and thought-provoking.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9976 comments As with The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell, Robert Dugoni has a talent for creating characters that steal into your heart, making you care very much what happens to them, and The World Played Chess confirms this.
5★s for a moving, thought-provoking and uplifting read.
