UNO 2021 Pre Challenge Chat

Rereads are allowed. I think the rule is that you can use it for UNO if you read the book six months ago or longer. Someone will correct me if I am wrong here.

Later I picked The Hogfather (#20) at random, and I loved it.
My favourites are from the City Watch series. I can safely recommend them as a starting point. Guards!Guards! is the 1st of these.

📕 Book you can't wait to read in 2021- The House in the Cerulean Sea, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and Diesel Heart: An Autobiography
📕 Your recommendation for book with the best yellow, red, blue, or green cover -

I'm looking forward to (hopefully) driving down my TBR list this year, as well as reading some more non-fiction.
For colour covers, I would recommend:

Looking forward to playing some UNO!

Dear UNO Pixie,
I am seeing N/A next to my name on the spreadsheet for the 2020 team list. I had trouble with getting my ID fixed in 2020, so that may be causing a problem.
Just wanted to let you know that in 2020 I was on the Astronaut Pie team with Judith and Nanci!! The whole experience was just wonderful!!
Cheers
Robynne

I'm a newbee for this challenge, and I only really have 1 question so far.
The color books. Does every book have to be a specific color? Or just one each hand, or each month, or each player? Just don't understand when and how often you need a book to be color coded.
📕 Name- Skye
📕 Team Challenge experience -- newbe on this group, but very used to other challenges
📕 Have you joined UNO before? no
📕 Favourite genres- paranormal, urban fantasy and mystery almost always m/m romance no mater the genres
📕 Book you can't wait to read in 2021 Bitter Pill
📕 Your recommendation for book with the best yellow, red, blue, or green cover

Nope. When the hands are dealt out every month, each team will get a few color cards they have to fill out. Most of the cards do not depend on having color covers. Your team will decide how to divvy out who plays each card.
It all becomes clear very quickly once your first hand is dealt. Plus, there will be UNO veterans on your team as well, so worry not.

My color recommendations:

The trouble is we have those extra point challenges where a cover item might be important so it's hard to decide what to read in the next couple of weeks before Feb1st.
My husband might be right, come to think of it ......

I second that. You're not the only one Elizabeth. I've been preparing and putting off reading some books since the end of last year, LOL.

📕 Team Challenge Experience: None in this group, I tried one in another group last fall, but it less of a game and more who could read the most books. I get through 2 or 3 month, so I wasn't really very helpful for my team.
📕 Have you joined UNO before? No, this would be my first time.
📕 Favourite genres: General fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy, History
📕 Book you can't wait to read in 2021: Everything on my "Want to Read" is currently on a shelf waiting for me to pick it up. With the exception of a few classics that I got on sale as well as some of the non-fiction, I am eager to one degree or another to read all of them.

I’ve added my coloured covers to my UNO shelf so I can find them again 😂😂

Oh that is such a brilliant idea!

I joined this challenge because I need some book friends in my life! No one around me reads anything except their social media accounts.
I am really into Historical Fiction right now. I am on the last book in the War of the Roses series by Conn Iggulden
Looking forward to this and meeting new people!

Welcome new people! Amanda you've come to the right place if you want to talk books. Hope you enjoy the challenge.

Your teams can be found on this spreadsheet.
Please note team threads won't be opened until a captain has checked in. A broadcast announcement will also be sent with this information in the next 24-48 hours.

My name is Thais, it's my first time participating of the UNO challenge!! I'm very happy! I'm in Team Fame.
I like all genres, but I never pass on a good mystery.
I haven't thought about one specific book I'm dying to read this year, but I'm very excited to read more of the books I have on my to-read list.
That's it! Thank you guys, I hope we can read a lot and have fun!

This is my first time playing uno and excited to be here! I live in Southampton, NY! I love all genres and recently found a new love for historical fantasy reading the invisible life of Addie LaRue!

I haven't checked out the other team names yet so I don't know if these are on there. But my favorite 80's movie are the Lost Boys and Goonies. I noticed Young Guns was on Amazon Prime (via IMBD app) the other day. I loved that one too.
I was born in 1970 so the 80's were my entire teenage years.

So excited for this challenge to start!

It is my first time participating on this challenge. I am really looking forward to meeting new people and reading new books!

I'm not on your team Gustaf...but you need to get that movie watched...there's a follow-up that comes out this year! So good!

I have watched two lol.

The 80s was a GREAT Decade for me!!
I also find it interesting that one of the BEST teen movies ever made in the 1980s is not on this list - Ferris Buellers Day off!!

The other author your color cover list is reminding me of is my lack of Pratchett reading. I read a couple years ago, and one sort fo recently. Perhaps I should just start at the beginning, especially since so many of them have great covers for UNO.
I want more Murderbot too. Now. Or sooner.
