I signed up around 9 Sunday the 17th but my time stamp on the spreadsheet is 13 hours later so I am the first person on the reserves list. I have never played before and I wonder if I will be placed on a team? How do you find out that you are in a team? Do you think it will be after the competition starts in Feb.1?

@Juhi & Felicity - from past experience there's a decent chance that you'll get placed on a team. If you do the mods will let you know :)

Current assignments have until Jan 26 to check in and those who don't are replaced with reserve players. You will receive a PM from the Pixie Account when a place is available so keep an eye on Goodreads around Jan 26-28 :)

Yes, you can.

The only things you can use for each letter are spelled out in the rules. It does not include narrators.

Just signed up! I've never played this one so I'm hoping a few more teams get formed before the 1st.

Current team assignments have about 48 hours to check in to their team threads or be replaced

We also have enough sign-ups to create a few more teams. So expect a few new teams to be created and reserves placed before the challenge officially begins!

Hello. This will be my first time to play UNO, but I'm still on the reserves list. I noticed some members who signed up after me have teams now. Am I going to be able to play?

I hope I am able to get on a team. I am really looking forward to this challenge!

Reserves were generally allocated by order of sign up, but also those who volunteered as a co-captain or captain were given priority (as we formed 4 new teams). We didn't have enough captains or co-captains to form a 5th team.
Then there can also be instances were the # of books read by a a person is a best fit for the team which is why they can be assigned first.

Reserves will be placed as needed if team members leave the challenge or the newly assigned don't arrive by this weekend. We will let reserves know when a place is available :)

I signed up on 1/16 and was not placed on a team because I signed up last year but didn't play. I have messaged the UNO Pixie account twice and am still not on a team. Can someone let me know why? Will I be put on a team or should I just assume I won't be playing in Uno?

Hi Melissa, I signed up on 1/18 too and don't have a team yet. UNO Pixie responded to my inquiry here in the chat but I'm not sure if you have seen it. Here it is:

As an update we have 10 reserve players who were assigned but haven't checked into their teams.
We have sent a final PM and will replace them in 12 hours if we don't see them.
