The sheet has accurate teams, and I wiped all the fake points I was using to test things... sorry if I wiped any real first day points...

Thank you for all of your hard work! <3

Time passes quick when sheet fiddling... I was always surprised when 3-6 hours had passed when I was fiddling...
You did tons of editing... and I saw your points drop to 0 shortly after the announcement... the only other person I was pretty sure had been fiddling already was Melissa... and she just added her first real book right after the fake one...
If anyone else was adding books already, they accidentally left the read date as 1/1/2020 instead of 1/1/2021, and I deleted it...
I fiddled with your sheet once, to test copying column merging, to get rid of the publication column, then reverted and told you about it, but didn't actually mess with your sheet... half your color choices hurt my eyes :D

I guess I have a bit of a problem with neon glow colors... but in general, I don't have a problem with any single color, it's the font/background combos that hurt my eyes...
most sheets have a faint blue font, or a white/background color blend... light green on dark green, etc...

Hey Bill, welcome back to the challenge! Sign-ups are here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Good timing as well - I'm going to add any new competitors to teams this weekend. :)

Announcing new signups!
Since House of Chains has 8 members instead of 9 (**for the Tome Raiders, I counted Soo as two people when making teams so they won't be getting a new member yet), Angela Jr. will be added to the House of Chains.
And, as the Jaghuts are in 4th place, Bill will be added to the Jaghut Guardians.
You can both add points from whatever day you signed up for the challenge.

I added Bill and Angela Jr to the spreadsheet... AJ signed up January 2nd, and Bill signed up January 15th... plugged those numbers in for your start date for the predicted pages/points per day stuff...
Bill, I just gave you a copy of the monthly formula, since you didn't ask for anything special...
Angela, I copied your sheet over from the 2020 sheet, fixed a couple things real quick that we changed this year, and added 2 checkbox columns for Re-(reads) and E-(books)... I haven't done the data collection and graphs yet, but those are the new columns needed to make them happen in the near future, so you can start recording...

Thanks, Iain! Sorry for giving you so much work 😅
I'll have a look at it and enter all my books so far! For start date you can also put Jan 1st, since I didn't read anything that day anyway - had to work all day!
This was more of a 10 minute solution to get you guys preliminarily in the spreadsheet... I'll need to fiddle a bit more in-depth to make all Angela's new graphs...

It's a bit late to try and signup for this now, but there should be a 2022 competition with signups in November-ish and teams in December...
The competition runs from New Year's to Halloween, so we're about a month away from done for this year, and the holidays are a break period... it's mostly just a helpful spreadsheet and some friendly grouping and competitiveness...
To participate you need to show you're active in the group by meeting the signup requirements listed over in the signup thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Also, since you also just commented in Hailee's challenge thread, you can copy anybody's challenge idea you want to, or create a unique personal one, just create a new topic in the Individual Set Challenges folder... just copy Hailee's first comment, if you want to setup a Buzzwordathon challenge...

First, check out the Rules page.
You'll notice there is a 100 post minimum to participate, so I would first try joining some Buddy Reads and engage in other threads.
Also, the competition ends at the end of October, so you may want to look forward to participating next year, starting January 1st. :)
Well... here's the Individual Set Challenge page... you reach that by clicking a folder from the group page, or the clickable words at the top of a thread to go to the folder: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
From there, in the upper right corner, near the group name, is a button that says "new topic"... that's where you make new threads... it defaults to making a thread in the current folder, but a dropdown menu lets you put the thread in whichever folder you choose... if you start screwing around, the mods will probably move your thread to the appropriate location or delete it... not sure what powers they have...

Should be easier to setup the spreadsheet next year... maybe... assuming no more drastic changes :D
I think I saved alot of the templates...

Nice :D Count me one of them!

Yeah, but it's a really good spreadsheet. No drastic things needed ;)

I'm in for next year. Especially when the group has been quiet, or I don't have the time to participate in the Buddy Reads, then it's nice to still pop into the Competition threads and see what people are reading.
And of course: delicious delicious data. <3

Sorry, Reed, but this challenge was with sign up's last year to start this year.
As Iain said, sign ups will appear soon. In waiting, maybe you can read the rules before signing up as a bit of information.

Can't believe it's over already!! What a year!! Can't wait to join you all for the next round :D

Are you missing the comments responding to all of your inquiries, Reed? We've not started signups for the next year, and the current competition ended 10/31. So sit tight - we'd love you have you join! I'd recommend getting involved in a bunch of challenges and buddy reads between now and Jan 1st because you'll need 100 comments of substance (random comments here and there don't count) to join in this particular challenge. But rest assured you can always join mid-year if it takes a while to hit that level of participation. Please feel free to lmk if you have any questions.

Right though? :D It was a good year~
