Hunger Games 2: Grandeur

Staircase
Almana sprinted up the steps as fast as she could in the dress, cane in hand. It didn't seem like anyone else was coming this way.
Almana ran out of the bedroom, closing the door quietly. She looked around, and then sighed and just sat down on the staircase. She had killed two people already, and she hated herself for it. She shouldn't, though. She had been raised to do this, training her entire life for this. Her parents were probably cheering her on. But... Felix was watching her from somewhere. Felix, the one person she had ever cared about, was watching her, and was probably disgusted. Horrified. Because Almana was just playing along with the Games that they both hated so much.
Amarissa walked leisurely out of the Throne Room, taking her time and observing the staircase. She was here to kill, yes. She was here to fight, yes. But she was not here to win. And she was not here to play. She ran her hand along the banister, taking in every inch of the place and trusting her prodigious memory in case she needed to come back here.
Amarissa backtracked to the throne room, realizing that the staircase didn't lead to anywhere important at the moment.

((I agree with Nora. Poor baby :'())
Andy started up the stairs with Amarissa, glass in hand. Then she spotted Xia. "Oh, hello..." She drawled, her evil smile getting a little bigger.
Amarissa followed Andy's gaze, looking Xia straight in the face. The red streaks in her eyes burned brighter, her mouth twisting into a smile.

Andy took a step towards the girl, glancing towards Amarissa. "Are we making this quick, or are we having fun with it?" She asked, keeping an eye on Xia. She twirled the glass in her fingers with anticipation. A hunter ready to kill.
Amarissa gave Xia a look of mocking pity. "Let's make it quick. We have more important things to do, after all," she said, with reasoning in her voice she didn't know she had. Without another word, she lunged at the girl, pinning her down in one motion. "Would you like to finish her off?" She asked Andy, eyes glittering.

Andy stopped twirling her glass, crouching down by Xia's side. "Sorry, kid." She said with a grin, and then quickly sliced across the girl's throat.

Amarissa released the girl, picking up her candles carefully. "To the bedroom, then?" She asked Andy passively.

Amarissa continued down the stairs. "Aww, it would be," she pouted. "Wonder how the capitol will react."
"Probably not too well, if their poster boy Career got taken down by someone from District 3." Andy pursed her lips. "Not to shame them, though. District 6 isn't exactly the most pleasant place in the world. I may have been the first to volunteer in decades." She joked.
((Hmmmm maybe wait for a bit, because there's already a plan for the Pandora/Lavi/Elektra/Chase/Kayne yeah that thing? So maybe these two could just talk for a bit before we move 'em there? Sorry))
Andy hesitated for a moment. "Well..." She shrugged. "Living conditions aren't the best, especially for those of us with nowhere to stay, but I'd say it's better than a lot of the others. And it's hard to find someone who doesn't have a morphing addiction." She added. "What about District Four?"
((OOPS SORRY I THOUGHT WE WERE WAITING FOR THE STUFF IN THE THRONE ROOM TO END AND THEN MOVING THEM TO THERE))
Amarissa shrugged. "Similar to the other two Career districts, although we have a lot more water. I went swimming pretty often - it was sometimes part of conditioning at the academy."

“Ah.” Andy nodded. “You know, I’ve never actually been swimming before. It sounds fun. Not that it’s likely I’ll ever get to try, but,” she grinned at Amarissa. “Still.”
"It's one of the only fun things in life," Amarissa grinned. "I wish you could've gotten to try it. Maybe you will, if you win." She quieted for a minute, deep in thought, which was typically unlike her. Then she whispered, "You could win, you know. And then, instead of burning down just the arena, you could burn down the Capitol too. I'm sure there are some people that would like that."

Andy hesitated, quiet for a moment. “It’s a possibility, isn’t it? I don’t know if it would be nearly as fun without you, though. I think I’d want you with me.” The words flew out of her mouth before she could think about them.

Amarissa raised her eyebrows, then recovered quickly. "I am fun, aren't I?" She said with a teasing smirk. "I'd want you with me, too," she decided. She was about to say something - then, deciding against ruining the moment, she leaned in and kissed Andy before her mind could tell her not to. Instead of her heart speeding up like it should have, it felt strangely...calm. Pleasant, in fact.
