Tips for Self Promotion, Sales, and Advertising discussion

While running my blog, I came up with an idea that I should include a section where authors could still promote their books/links regardless of whether they had videos. This would help readers find their books while they were checking out other trailers.

Awesome idea. Went ahead and posted one video on the Fantasy and Young Adult sections. Need to get more book trailer videos done. Ugh. Have a second one, but I am thinking of tweaking it as it came out rather lame... Heh heh.

Can anyone help me out? My publisher is moving my short story collection 'All the little things that we lose' into the pre-release publicity phase. (The publication date is January 15th 2010.) I'm hoping I can assist by suggesting some web sites / blogs that could review the book (from a PDF at this stage) or offer an author interview or both. Does anyone know of any online reviewers or bloggers that might be suitable?

I would join groups here that review short story collections and post a short comment that you are looking for reviewers. In my experience, when you offer a free book, reviewers come out of the woodwork. After all, like us, they love to read. That said, many prefer ARCs, the actual physical book, or a printed copy. So you might want to have some made.
