If you have any questions about the challenge - please write them here.

Kelly | 3912 comments I read the sign-up thread but perhaps I missed it. When we guess a letter, we can only use the first letter of a title or did I get that wrong?

Well this is super awkward. I didn't realize I added the wrong version of the document lol. So it has been updated to reflect the correct information.

Here is the answer as well:

How do you guess? Well, each person will read for a letter.
What will work towards a letter? The first letter of ANY word in the title or series title can be used to guess. Any edition can be used as well, just add the link to the one you are using. You can also use the author’s initials. If there’s more than one author, you can use initials for any one of them.

Yes, just let me know in the review post that you started after midnight in your time zone :)

Hello Kelsey! Are you asking about the spreadsheet or the review thread for your team?

The spreadsheet is for the team to know what you are reading and such. So you can fill out the information there so that no on else is reading for the letter that you are reading for.

As for the team's review thread, yes, I will need to know the page count for the book that you are reading for. It doesn't mean that's the actual page count that you read though. Mostly because we use the top rated page count.

So, for example: If you read the following - Mother May I you would post it like this,

Mother May I by Joshilyn Jackson
Review: add link
Buddy: add link (if you participated in a buddy read for this book in this group.)
Pages: 336 (it is the first book - https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...)

Aneta | 1305 comments Hello, I have three questions. This is my first time participating in challenge in this group so I want to be sure before I post my review :)

1. I read a book in my language and it's not most rated book but it has more pages then the first one. Can I only use the first one or can I use the one I actually read?

2. I usually review book in language I read them. Would it be problem? I can send translation.

3. How much detailed status updates has to be? I just finished a book, I wrote some status updates as I listened to an audiobook but I don't plan to write a review.

Hello Aneta! I love questions!

1. For books, you will need to do the following for the page count that will be used for the book you are reading:

To find the most rated edition:
1. Go to the books Goodreads page
2. Click on 'other editions' or 'all editions'
The top most edition listed will be the highest rated edition
***sometimes the second listed edition actually has the highest rating, if this is the case you must specify this in your post on the review thread.

So you will use the first book located on the editions page.

2. I have google translation so it's okay if you don't write it in English as well but if you want you can just do a summary of your review in English at the beginning or the end of your review.

3. For status updates, we need about 5 instead of a review.

Every book would be a BR within the group. So, yes, just like Guess Who.

The 57 wouldn't work since it's a number. But you could use it for the following letters:
P D I S H T L

Hmm. I know some editions for books can actually have a word starting with the letter Z. Not sure about X though.. so I would accept the X being anywhere in any word within the title, series title, or author's name. Any edition will count as well.

Question regarding rereading a book since this challenge (and others in this group) need a review.

So I am reading The Pagan Stone which I've read before but that was before I wrote reviews. How do I show when I link my review for the book that it's a new review? Unfortunately I've had problems in the past when rereading where the date on the top right of the review page doesn't update with the date I actually wrote the review.

You can see here, there's no actual review yet.

If you have no review the first time, you can put what I put which is - Second time read, first review. Or just simple put Reread 2021. Then write the actual review after that :)

Wanted to get clarification on how I should post something.

I am rereading a book I've already reviewed twice so I'm going to go the "Five detailed status updates can be used in place of a review" route.

Should I mention in my post in the review thread when I submit the book that I'm using status updates for the review portion?

Also, is 2-3 sentences in each update enough for the status to count as detailed? I tend to be overly wordy, but want to make sure I know how much is needed for the status to count since it usually varies how much I'll put in updates.

Yay! Okay. So when using the status updates you can still use the link to your book review because we can see what updates you made and when. Also the status updates don’t have a length requirement. It can be one word to a million. Completely up to you 🥳
