Just had my first five star of the year, it literally stole my heart which is Love Logan

Of to a great start with books this year though, i did a buddyread for Merry Measure and A fashonable Indulgence too. Both of which are incredible reads 💕

Also fonally picked up a book been on my shelf since my teens and that was pretty sweet too, better then expected. Which was Rise of the heroes.

Okay, I don’t like either of the MCs. They’re just names with no personality to them. The sex was one of the most boring I’ve ever read. The cold “are you going to stay” after each episode was really cringe worthy. The whole prince thing was revealed way too quickly. Then, when they run into each other at the charity gala, and Alex says George interests him, I literally went “how do you figure!” They barely said two words to one another!

The date was big bore. There was really no connection at all! The author seems to be doing a lot of telling and no showing at all. At this point, if it weren’t for the buddy read, I would have definitely dnf’d it. Sigh!

Ok I'm going to have to agree with Aishu here, this book is definitely on the bland side. Like in the first sex scene, there was more information about the bathroom than either of the MCs. The conversation between them is dull and I'm not feeling the chemistry.
I also thought the six month gap was unnecessary and like Aishu said, they didn't know anything about each other to go on a date (had they just hooked up again, it would have made more sense).
Also Alex trying to get a reaction out of George by flirting with the bartender was lame.
Oh no, we always end up with a coming out story which none of us like 🤣

I actually enjoy them both so far and the closet thing doesn't worry me yet, especially as George has only known for a year his identity and he has told those most important to him. So i can understand that as his still figuring himself out.

The royal thing im glad was revealed quick as i hate mystery/hidden identity stuff. I kind of liked the date, i think can be interested purely from attraction and was good way to get to know more about each other. Interactions were sweet to me and i enjoy the steam between them, its a but messy but i kind of feel suits them. Especially as just sort of hooking up. Only just start date stuff.

I've read The Happy List by the same author and reallly loved it! Its a standalone and on KU. Check it out and let me know. Anything else is also okay 😄

Aww im not into project hero, heard amazing things but doesn't look like book for me. Its a friends favourite of last year.

Ditto! I’m really enjoying the humor so far. Simon is so adorably prim and proper, Dalton is OTT ridiculous. They’re going to be so entertaining together! I’m looking forward to the next set!

Just finished Ch 6!
I'm enjoying it too, Simon and Dalton are both cute and funny in their own ways and they have a good rapport with each other. The story has a good pace and I'm really curious about where this is going.
How do you think Simon is going to react when he finds out about Dalton Dino?

Those definitely made me smile, their hilarious. I liked him trying not to sleep in the bed and sneaking in, then Dalton being like night. Told you so 😂

Ok i love this book so far! Its super adorable and i am enjoying all the dinosaur chat, which surprised me because i don't think i've been into those. Except of course the land before time. So learning a lot 😂

(view spoiler)[ Their date at the dinosaur park, sneaking in and that first kiss so cute! Oh and Simon taking the lead a bit is wonderful. Learning more about Dalton and how everything hapoened is incredible, i enjoy how its all explained and getting to know more of the team. Which i presume the other books will be about 😊

I like seeing more of Daltons dinosaur shift and Simon being in awe, crying and admiring when realised is real. Definitly gave Ross vibes!

The romance /feels are pretty insta, but its a short book. Road trips and forced proximity build feelings quickly so i can forgive it though and love these two anyway 💕 (hide spoiler)]

I’m halfway through the next set. I’m actually not enjoying the Dino stuff. It’s too much 😕 also, anyone else feel the author uses the word Mohawk too many times? 😂 I’m not into Mohawks at all lol

Aww im sorry to hear that, i will admit its a lot of dino related stuff but yeah its working for me.

Lol she does use it a lot, but i adore Mohawks and don't feel like see much. I can't remember last character i have read with one if any, so its a nice change and i love how links to his like feathers 😂

Have to agree with Laura. I'm really enjoying the book so far. I skim through the dino bits, which is fine and I don't mind too much!

Dalton revealing his raptor form was epic! While Simon did react like a regular human for a bit, I loved his Ross impression lol! And my favorite part was him finding out that Montana was a T.Rex. "It had better be academic, asking me about his lips" 😂

I think their chemistry is fine for a short read, I'm enjoying their banter and togetherness a lot more. I'm not looking for a deep, well developed relationship in a short read. So, no disappointments there.

I have a whole bunch of favorite quotes in this set:
"You wanted to name your team FART?" - "Would you mess with a FART?" OMGGG
"When I see you, all I want is to shake my tail, feed you rabbits and keep you safe" awwwww Pretty Simon
And I love all the parts where Dalton is the little spoon. It's so unexpectedly delightful 💕💕

Just finished Ch 12!
I'm really enjoying this one too. The Dino bits are a little rambly but I really don't mind. My only issue is I don't know a lot about Dinos except for T. Rex so I can't picture any of this in my head. And what size would Dalton's Dino form be? If he can shift inside a motel room,it can't be too big right?

Anyway, I loved the date at the park and the cute kiss really melted my heart. I actually don't think the romance is too insta because I feel like they've spent so many days together really talking and getting to know each other and like you guys said, with a short road trip story, this is to be expected.
I was looking forward to seeing how Simon would react to the shift and I was not disappointed. I loved that he slowly realized that the raptor had so many things in common with Dalton and then when he cries, it was very sweet!
Also Dalton chirping to try and appear tame was adorable <3

I liked the part where Dalton explains how they evolved too and I really loved the "shake my tail and feed you rabbits" part!!

I was very doubtful that I would like this book but its turning out great! Hopefully it ends on a high note tooo

Aishu yes! I felt the word Mohawk was over used in this one chapter too, and the word Jurassic but I can excuse that one because what else can you expect from a dinosaur shifter book xD

I adored all the moments you mentioned too, i really love the quotes too. Theres a lot of humor here, Simon and Dalon are lovely. Yeah they've spent like i want to say around a week together, but the romance between them it fits to the size of book and road trip vibes. Along with the characters xx

Just finished the book!

The last 6 chapters seemed rather quick, sudden and abrupt style end but still adorable how these two stay together. I liked the last bit of action and seeing some more of the dinosaurs was sweet, as expect the other books shall be about them.

Overall it was a fun, easy and feel good read with lots of entertaining moments 💕

I want to scream 😩 why did you do that, Dalton?! Just Why!

Okay, I forgive him! This book was insanely sweet and entertaining. Even though I really wanted to give it 5 stars, I rated it 4 since the Dino bits were boring and the end was too rushed.

Baha’s character really turned around. I wasn’t thrilled when we met him initially, but I fell a little in love with his gruffness towards the end. Another favorite was when after Simon rescues Dalton and they discuss date number two, Dalton happily says he’ll steal a baby goat. That guyyyy! Ridiculous!

And I think my favorite quote in the entire book was Simon’s description of Dalton’s behavior after they fly to New York. “Particularly chaotic form of deranged behavior” totally using this one on my sister next time she creates a ruckus 😂😂

The epilogue was absolutely perfect! “So many babies...” ❤️❤️

Loved the book! Don’t think I’ll read the rest of the series though. The plot and idea aren’t interesting enough for me to want to read the rest of it! What do you both think? Will you read on?

Agreed, i loved Baha in his last few scenes and i look forward to the rest of the series. As want to see who he meets and falls for, i like the dino parts a lot as not a topic i've known much about so find interesting to learn as read xx

Thats fair enough, i will definitely look at the rest of series although maybe not read all of them. Like the stallion ridge series by this author, i read the first two and loved but won't continue the rest.

Finished!! I loved it, it was sweet, funny, entertaining and both Simon and Dalton were so great. I actually don't know if I would have enjoyed this book that much had it been longer,this was the perfect length.

I would also give this 4 stars, not because I felt anything was missing but just sometimes you read something and you like it but you just know it's not 5 stars right? That's what I feel.

My favourite quote from this part was Dalton saying he was going to the stuff he was best at- being cute and blowing shit up or something 🤣

Epilogue was very sweet though I wish we could have seen what they were like a few years down the line. Maybe they feature in the other books!

Overall, it was a really fun read and I'm glad we all enjoyed it but I have to say- when it's an average read, we have so much more to debate about! So our future Buddy Reads should be a good mix of both 😄
