I don't really consider myself a reader of romances, but I ended up reading quite a few last year, and I mostly enjoyed them. If you really don't want to read a plain romance, there are always cross-genre options. Lots of mystery and SFF books have romantic subplots.

I plan to continue the Brown Sisters trilogy I started reading last summer, so Take a Hint, Dani Brown is coming up soon on my TBR. And if you liked the Eddie Murphy movie Coming to America, check out A Princess in Theory, the first book in the Reluctant Royals series. I will probably continue with those as well this year. I'm also looking at Spoiler Alert, which promises to be fun and nerdy.

I'm still planning to read several of those, but I ended up counting Angel Falls: A Thrilling Romantic Suspense with a Touch of Paranormal for this prompt. It's not really my style, but the authors (sisters writing together under one pseudonym) have another series that sounds intriguing to me.

Mary Arkless | 153 comments I'm counting "Moonlight Over Mayfair" by Anton du Beke for this. There are three romances in this book, including a bit of a love triangle (or maybe a love quartet if you consider one person is a recently widowed young woman). The author throws a lot of other issues into the book, but I think he intended it to be a romance.

This could also count as a book where a character uses an alias. I think my edition falls just short of the "book over 450 pages" category. As I'm not too likely to read another romance this year, I'll count it towards this one.
